Vlasic (upper-body) was a minus-2 in 20-plus minutes in his return to the Sharks lineup on Sunday.

Vlasic missed five games with an upper-body injury, but returned to the lineup last night vs. the Lightning. It was a shaky return for the 27-year-old, while the Sharks were dropped 5-2. Overall it has been a strong year for Vlasic, who has 17 points (6G / 11A) and a plus-13 rating in 53 games.

Vlasic missed Thursday’s game with an upper-body injury, but will return tonight. Mirco Mueller is expected to take a seat with Matt Tennyson staying in the lineup for a second straight game. Vlasic has three goals, five assists and a team leading plus-12 rating 30 games this season.

Vlasic missed game 6 after being elbowed in the head by Kings' forward Jarret Stoll in game 5. He is there best puck moving defenseman, so his loss is a big one, but Matt Irwin filled-in pretty well in game 6. Irwin logged 18:43 of ice-time and was a minus-1, he'll be in again tonight.

Vlasic left Saturday's game after playing just 5:38 and did not return. Vlasic was injured on a hit by Kings forward Jarret Stoll. The Canadian Olympian is the key component on the Sharks blueline, so missing him in any capacity would severely weaken the San Jose backend.

No word on whether Vlasic returns to the game but the initial prognosis sounds gruesome. The blue liner has four goals and 19 points in 56 games with a tidy plus-18 rating.
