Scandella last played in the NHL with St. Louis in 2023-24 and has announced his retirement from professional hockey after 14 NHL seasons through the NHLPA. The Quebec-born defenseman was drafted by Minnesota in the 2nd-round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft (55th overall) and managed to carve out a 14-year career with four separate organizations (MIN, STL, BUF, MTL). In 784 career games played, he had 51 goals, 170 Pts and 294 PIMs while playing steady shutdown hockey on a nightly basis.
