Mark Katic's reported torn labrum, which Sound Tigers beatwriter Michael Fornabaio notes was indeed the same shoulder he hurt in 2010, is a blow to not only Katic's NHL prospects but also the Islanders blueline depth going into training camp.
The former 3rd round pick might have made the team as a 6/7th defenseman but will miss a significant period of time due to this shoulder injury. As a quad-A player, he likely holds no fantasy value.
