Mathieu Perreault News

The Jets have placed Mathieu Perreault (upper-body) on IR.

Perreault has missed the last five games with an upper-body injury and his movement to IR means that he will miss a sixth straight game on Sunday. The move also create a roster spot for the Jets to recall Quinton Howden from Manitoba (AHL).

Perreault (upper-body) left Thursday’s game; questionable for Friday’s game in Detroit.

Perreault left Thursday’s game after playing 12:02 and did not return. The Jets will not hold a morning skate prior to Friday’s game, so there won’t be an update on Perreault’s status until around 5 p.m. ET when head coach Paul Maurice addresses the media.

The Jets signed Mathieu Perreault to a four-year deal worth $16.5 million ($4.125M AAV).

After posting 18 goals in back-to-back seasons, Perreault’s nine goals in 2015-16 was disappointing. In his first two years with the Jets he has posted back-to-back 41-point seasons and should be expected to be back in that range again in 2016-17.

Perreault (lower-body) missed Monday’s practice but probable to play in Game 1.

Despite missing Monday’s practice, head coach Paul Maurice called the chance of Perreault playing in game 1 “substantial.” Perreault missed the season finale, but will be a key to the Jets playoff success. He had 18 goals and 23 assists in 62 games this season.

Perreault left Thursday's game with a lower-body injury and did not return.

Perreault is questionable for Saturday’s game after leaving Thursday’s contest with a lower-body injury. With the Jets in the playoffs, they will likely rest Perreault to get him ready for the postseason.

Perrault has been activated from IR and is expected to play on Sunday.

Perreault will be in the lineup for the first time since February 16th after missing nearly six weeks with a lower-body injury. Perreault was red-hot before getting injured—he comes in with 18 goals and 18 assists (36 points) in 56 games.

Perreault (lower-body) practiced on Thursday; hopeful to return on Sunday.

Perreault was expected to miss the rest of the regular season, but he took part in the Jets morning skate on Thursday and he hopes that he will be able to play on Sunday vs. the Blackhawks. Monitor his status leading up to Sunday.

Perreault is expected to miss the rest of the regular season with a “significant” lower-body injury.

Perreault suffered the injury on Monday vs. the Oilers. Perreault suffered a serious lower-body injury and is likely to miss the remainder of the regular season. Given the serious nature of the injury, the Jets moved Perreault to IR to make room to recall Carl Klingberg from St. John’s (AHL). This is a tough break for the Jets, who currently sit fifth in the West.

Perreault (lower-body) did not practice on Wednesday.

Perreault suffered a lower-body injury on Tuesday and missing today’s practice isn’t a good sign for Perreault’s availability for Thursday’s contest in Washington. Expect head coach Paul Maurice to update Perreault’s status after Wednesday’s skate.

Mathieu Perreault
The Jets will activate Mathieu Perreault (arm) from IR in advance of Tuesday’s game.

Perreault missed the last two games with an arm injury he suffered on a cross-check from Daniel Carcillo on January 16th. Perreault was as hot as any player prior to getting hurt, so he will look to pick things up where he left off. He has 29 points (15G / 14A) in 45 games this season.
