The Blue Jackets have placed Matt Calvert (concussion) on IR.
The Blue Jackets announced on Friday that Calvert is out indefinitely with a concussion so they moved him to IR this morning to make room to recall Brian Gibbons from Springfield (AHL).

Calvert has reportedly been playing with a concussion that the Blue Jackets originally thought was a neck injury. He had been getting treatment for the injury, but last night Calvert said “felt different.” The doctors then went through concussion protocol and he was diagnosed with a concussion. His injury opens a spot for David Clarkson to slide right in on Saturday.
Calvert (illness) will return to the Blue Jackets lineup on Friday.
Calvert has missed the last two games, but will be back in the lineup on Friday vs. the Blues. He will skate one the fourth line with Mark Letestu and Jared Boll, so he doesn’t have much fantasy value in any format.

Matt Calvert could miss up to three weeks after suffering a sprained shoulder.
Calvert was injured in the second period of Saturday's game. He had recorded four goals and four assists in 17 games. This is a tough loss for the Blue Jackets who lose a high-engergy source along with their premiere sniper.
Calvert (abdomen) will play tonight.
Calvert will play for the first time since October 10 after undergoing surgery on his abdomen. With Brandon Dubinsky and Marian Gaborik out, this is a small bright spot for the Blue Jackets. Calvert is an undersized pass-first forward who will play on the third line if Derek MacKenzie can't play, if he does Calvert suits up on the fourth line tonight.

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Matt Calvert underwent surgery this morning to repair an abdominal injury, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Calvert is expected to miss six weeks. He has recorded seven hits, two takeaways and four shots on goal in three appearances thus far on the 2013-14 campaign.
Calvert, who missed practice yesterday to rest a sore groin, is out.
Boone Jenner will replace Calvert on the Blue Jackets third line. Calvert has no points while averaging 15:25 TOI in the first three games. Consider him day-to-day, but he should be back Tuesday vs. Detroit.
