Matthew Boldy (upper body) will return to the Wild lineup Thursday vs New Jersey.

After being injured in the second game of the season and being forced to miss the subsequent seven contests, Boldy will make his much-anticipated return to the Wild lineup on Thursday against the New Jersey Devils. The Wild have struggled immensely in his absence, winning only twice (2-3-2). Boldy has two points (1G / 1A) in two games this season and will be a fixture in the top-six and top powerplay unit for the Wild going forward.

Matt Boldy is week-to-week with an upper-body injury.

Boldy was off to a strong start in his third NHL season, scoring two points (1G / 1A) in two games, before suffering an upper-body injury on Saturday. Boldy is listed as week-to-week and will be a huge loss to Minnesota's offensive capabilities. Last season, Boldy recorded career-highs in goals and assists, scoring 63 points (31G / 32A) in 81 games. Marco Rossi could be a candidate to see increased offensive deployment to try and offset the loss from Boldy's absence.

Boldy (rest) will not play on Thursday.

Boldy has 31 goals, 32 assists, 255 SOG, 39 PIMs and a +1 plus/minus in 81 games in his sophomore campaign but will not play in game 82 for the Wild as he rests ahead of the playoffs. The 22-year-old old broke out in a big way in his second career-season and will hope to carry his strong late-season momentum into the playoffs.

Matt Boldy
The Wild have signed Matt Boldy to a seven-year contract extension worth $7.0M AAV.

Boldy was selected No.12 overall in 2019 and has picked up 68 points (27G / 41A) in his first 89 career NHL games with the Wild. Boldy was set to become an RFA at the end of the season but is now signed through the 2029-30 season.

Matt Boldy
Boldy (upper-body) is expected to miss the next two games.

Boldy suffered an upper-body injury vs. the Penguins on Thursday and will not play on Saturday. He is on the road trip and has not officially been ruled out for Sunday's game, but it seems unlikely that he will play. Nick Bjugstad will likely draw into the lineup in Carolina.

The Wild have recalled Matt Boldy from Iowa (AHL).

Boldy was the No.12 overall pick in 2019 and has had a nice start to his AHL season. After posing 18 points (6G / 12A) in 14 games last year, Boldy has 10 points (4G / 6A) in 10 games with Iowa this season. He is expected to make his NHL debut on Thursday.

Matt Boldy
The Wild have activated Matthew Boldy from the injured non-roster list and assigned him to Iowa (AHL).

Boldy suffered a fractured ankle in early October and is set to make his season debut with Iowa. The 20-year-old had 18 points (6G / 12A) in 14 AHL games last season. If he has that kind of production again, expect him to make a quick return to Minnesota.

Matt Boldy
Boldy is expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks with a fractured left ankle.

Boldy suffered a fractured ankle in Thursday's preseason game vs. the Blackhawks. The injury will keep him sidelined until early-to-mid November and will likely force him to start the season in the AHL to get back up to speed.

Matt Boldy
Boldy will undergo an MRI after suffering a lower-body injury in Thursday's preseason game.

Boldy appeared to be on track to make the Wild out of training camp but now it looks like he could miss some time to start the season. The injury could open the door for fellow prospect Marco Rossi to make the team, but it's more likely that recent waiver pickup Rem Pitlick claims that spot.
