Hoffman has missed the last four games with a lower-body injury, but he will be back in the lineup on Tuesday. Hoffman has had a nice start to the season, scoring four goals with four assists (eight points) in his first seven games. With Hoffman back at 100 percent the Senators sent Max McCormick back to Binghamton (AHL).
On Friday, Hoffman will miss his second consecutive game with a lower-body injury but he is probably going to be back in the lineup on Saturday vs. the Red Wings. With Hoffman still sidelined, Shane Prince is expected to play on the top line again.

With Hoffman out tonight, Matt Puempel will draw into the lineup, but Hoffman could be back for the Senators back-to-back on Friday and Saturday.
Hoffman took part in Tuesday’s practice but did not take line rushes with his regular line, which suggests that he still isn’t 100 percent. The Senators have him listed as doubtful, but monitor his status during Wednesday’s morning skate.
Hoffman missed Saturday’s game vs. Arizona but was originally expected to be back in the lineup on Wednesday. Hoffman returned to practice this morning, but only lasted about 10 minutes before leaving the ice. Not finishing practice clouds Hoffman’s status for Wednesday—monitor his status as the week progresses.
Hoffman will be held out of the lineup on Saturday because of an upper-body injury, but it is not believed to be serious. Expect Hoffman to rejoin practice in the coming days and play next week.

Hoffman is having a tremendous season in the AHL, he has 11 goals and 26 points - which is good for second in AHL scoring. The 24-year-old was the 130th overall pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
Hoffman has 28 points in 41 games in the AHL this season.
Hoffman played slightly over nine minutes in his NHL debut and has no fantasy hockey value while in the minors.
Hoffman scored seven goals and 17 points in the AHL and figures to fill in on a checking line with the Sens tonight.
