Nathan Beaulieu News

Beaulieu (upper-body) will return to the Sabres lineup on Friday.

Beaulieu has missed the last seven games with an upper-body injury, but will return tonight vs. the Panthers. Beaulieu is expected to skate on the third pairing with Viktor Antipin and should see some power-play time. He has just two assists in eight games so far this season.

The Sabres acquired Nathan Beaulieu from the Canadiens for a 2017 3rd Round Pick on Saturday.

Beaulieu was a first round pick in 2011 (No.17 overall) and had his best season of his young career in 2016-17, scoring four goals with 24 assists (28 points) in 74 games. The Canadiens could potentially have lost Beaulieu in the expansion draft, so they elected to trade him and at least get something back in return instead of losing him for nothing.

Beaulieu (neck) is expected to return to the Canadiens’ lineup on Thursday.

Beaulieu has missed the last six games with a neck injury, but Mark Barberio was reassigned to St. John’s this afternoon, which suggests that Beaulieu is ready to go for Thursday. He has one goal and five assists (six points) in 20 games this season.

Beaulieu will miss the rest of the regular season with a broken thumb.

Beaulieu suffered a broken thumb after blocking a shot in the Canadiens’ win over the Lightning last night. Beaulieu finishes the season wit ha two goals and 17 assists (19 points) in 64 games. The Canadiens may have to recall a defenseman unless P.K Subban is ready to return for Saturday.
