Gerbe has been playing in Switzerland for the last two seasons, picking up 13 goals and 22 assists (35 points) in 45 games. Gerbe will be placed on waivers to be sent to Cleveland (AHL). The diminutive forward has 138 points (58G / 80A) in 394 career NHL games with the Sabres and Hurricanes.

The Rangers signed Nathan Gerbe to a one-year contract worth $600K.

Grebe, 28, had a terrible 2015-16 season that was hampered by injuries. He appeared in just 47 games and scored just three times with four assists. Despite the off-year, the Rangers still came calling and he will look to crack their bottom-6 in training camp.

Gerbe (lower-body) has been placed on IR; expected to miss 4-6 weeks.

Gerbe was injured in Sunday’s game against the Kings and will miss at least one month with a lower-body injury. With Gerbe out, Chris Terry returned to the lineup on Monday. Expect the Hurricanes to recall a forward now that Gerbe has been placed on IR.

Gerbe (lower-body) should be ready for Saturday or Sunday.

Gerbe was on the ice for Hurricanes practice this morning and took line rushes in Jiri Tluty's spot on the second line. Likely not an indication of where he will play when he returns, but coach Bill Peters said he would be shocked if Gerbe can't play this weekend after a four-game absence.

Gerbe left Thursday's game with a lower-body injury and did not return.

Another game, another injury for the Hurricanes. They are already down three top forwards and a top pair defenseman and you can now add Gerbe to that list. There is no word on how serious the injury is, but we should get an update in the near future. He had one goal while averaging 17 minutes a night through four games.

Gerbe (lower-body) missed practice this morning, but could have practiced and was just held out as a precaution. He should be good to go tomorrow.

Gerbe has three goals and three assists in his first nine games as a Hurricane. That would put him on pace for 54 points, which would smash his previous career high of 31 in 2010-11 with Buffalo.
