Petan will make his season debut in Finland.

Petan has sat as a healthy scratch for the first 13 games of the season, but will replace Jack Roslovic in the Jets’ lineup vs. the Panthers. The 23-year-old has impressed in the AHL, picking up 52 points (15G / 37A) in 52 games a season ago, but hasn’t been able to gain any traction with the Jets. Look for him to centre the fourth line with Brendan Lemieux and Andrew Copp on his wings today.

Petan is expected to be a healthy scratch for the season opener.

Despite skating as a regular throughout the last few practices, the return of Andrew Copp will push Petan to the press box on opening night. The 22-year-old had just 13 points (1G / 12A) in 54 games last year, spending most of it on the fourth line with Chris Thorburn.
