Bjugstad was not on the ice for the Panthers morning skate and head coach Bob Boughner announced that he is day-to-day. Don’t expect to see Bjugstad on Saturday, which means Denis Malgin will draw into the lineup.


Bjugstad left Tuesday’s game early and practiced in a non-contact sweater on Wednesday. Despite all of that, it looks like Bjugstad will play vs. the Avalanche. Bjugstad has just 10 points (4G / 6A) in 26 games this season.

Bjugstad was on the ice for Wednesday’s practice in a non-contact sweater after leaving Tuesday’s game with an undisclosed injury. Head coach Bob Boughner said Bjugstad was feeling “surprisingly decent” and listed him as a game-time decision for tonight’s game vs. the Avalanche. Juho Lammikko centred the third line with Bjugstad limited in practice.

Juulsen was hit in the face by the puck on two separate occasions in just 3:12 TOI. With Juulsen out at least a week, look for Karl Alzner or Xavier Ouellet to draw back into the Canadiens’ lineup on Wednesday.

Juulsen has been out of the lineup for the last two games, but will play in Edmonton. Juulsen will replace Karl Alzner and re-enters the lineup with three points (1G / 2A) in 13 games this season.

Juulsen recorded two assists against the Islanders on Monday but failed to register a point in 16:01 TOI on Tuesday. The young defenseman has played well so far this season, but has come out of the lineup to allow Karl Alzner to play a couple of times and will do so again tonight.


Juulsen will miss his second straight game with an upper-body injury, despite skating on Monday and expecting to play tonight. Karl Alzner will remain in the Canadiens lineup with Juulsen sidelined.

Juulsen missed Saturday’s game in Boston, but practiced on Monday and expects to play tomorrow vs. Dallas. Juulsen has registered just one assist and a plus-9 rating in nine games this season.

Juulsen is considered day-to-day with an upper-body injury that will force him to miss Saturday’s game in Boston. With Juulsen out, Karl Alzner will draw back into the lineup.


Bjugstad missed Monday’s practice so his status for Tuesday’s game is in question. The Panthers called the winger “day-to-day” so monitor his status during Tuesday’s morning skate. With Bjugstad absent today, Denis Malgin skated on the Panthers’ top line and Mike Hoffman moved back to the second line.


Juulsen was a first-round pick of the Canadiens’ in 2015 and had a chance to crack the opening night roster this October. Juulsen, who had 34 points (12G / 22A) in 49 games with Everett (WHL) last year, had earned preseason praise from Claude Julien but will now likely start the year with St. John’s (AHL).

Bjugstad has missed the last nine games with a groin injury, but will return to centre the Panthers’ fourth line on Thursday. Bjugstad has had a tough season, posting just two points (1G / 1A) in 21 games so far. His production has fallen off immensely since his breakout 2014-15 campaign.

Bjugstad suffered a lower-body injury early in last night’s game vs. the Predators. Bjugstad will miss at least one week after being placed on IR this morning. Expect Shawn Thornton to get back into the Panthers’ lineup with Bjugstad out.
