Bujgstad left Friday’s game with a lower-body injury.

Bjugstad played just 4:18 TOI before retiring to the dressing room last night. Panthers’ head coach Tom Rowe did not have an update on Bjugstad after the game, so considering him questionable for Saturday’s game vs. the Bruins. This would be a big loss for a team already without their top centre Aleksander Barkov.

Bjugstad missed the first 19 games of the season with a broken hand, but will make his season debut Tuesday. There was no word on where Bjugstad would fit into the lineup, but expect a full update during Tuesday’s morning skate. The Panthers went 10-8-1 without Bjugstad, but his return will help immensely. The Panthers have activated Nick Bjugstad (migraines) off of IR; expected to play on Sunday.

Bjugstad missed the entire month of December because of migraines, but has been practicing and his activation from IR today suggests that he will play for the first time since November 29th. Bjugsad has 12 points (7G / 5A) in 23 games this season.

Bjugstad will miss the rest of the season after having lower-back surgery.

The Panthers run to the playoffs will come without their leading scorer after Nick Bjugstad had season-ending lower back surgery on Friday. Bjugstad had 24 goals and 19 assists in 72 games this season for the Panthers, but had been hampered by a mysterious 'lower body' injury over the past few weeks. It has been an issue for awhile and the Panthers felt it was important to get the procedure done as soon as possible.

Nick Bjugstad
Bjugstad (lower-body) will not play on Thursday.

Bjugstad did not travel to Toronto, so he won’t play tonight and could miss the entire road trip. The Panthers have a back-to-back on the weekend so if Bjugstad doesn’t join the team on the trip, Vincent Trocheck will stay in the lineup through the weekend.

Bjugstad (undisclosed) missed Panthers practice on Monday.

The flu has been making its rounds around the Panthers locker room, so that is likely what Bjugstad is dealing with. Florida does not play again until Thursday, so he has plenty of time to get back on the ice and be ready for their matchup with the Jets.

Nick Bjugstad
Bjugstad (undisclosed) will play Sunday vs. Pittsburgh.

Bjugstad was listed as questionable with an undisclosed injury and the belief was that Vincent Trocheck was recalled to replace Bjugstad, but he will be in for Dave Bolland and Bjugstad is good to go. The 22-year-old has five goals in his last nine games.
