Foligno left Friday’s game with an upper-body injury that he suffered when he was hit hight by Hurricanes’ forward Brad Malone. He looked dazed, so the immediate concern was a concussion and his movement to IR suggests that could be the case. With Foligno out, the Blue Jackets have recalled Kerby Rychel from Lake Erie (AHL).

Foligno's injury is not believed to be serious, but he will be held out of tonight's game vs. the Flyers. With Foligno out, Corey Tropp is expected to skate on the Blue Jackets top-line.

Foligno missed just one game after injuring his neck and having to be stretchered off of the ice on Sunday vs. the Kings. It is a pretty miraculous recovery and the Jackets will be glad to get him back because their lineup is ravaged by injuries right now.

Foligno was on the ice for the Blue Jackets practice this morning and took line rushes, which is a good sign that he could be available on Friday. This would be rather impressive considering he was stretchered off of the ice less than a week ago. His return would definitely help an extremely depleted Blue Jackets lineup.

Foligno said he is feeling fine despite being stretchered off of the ice on Sunday. He is likely a little stiff and that should keep him off of the ice for a few days, but the news is positive for what was a scary incident. He is day-to-day.

Foligno was knocked out in a collision with the linesman on Sunday night and had to be stretchered off of the ice. He said that he had lost feeling in the one side of his body but it came back quickly. He underwent an MRI and X-rays on Monday and everything came back negative. He was diagnosed with a "stinger" and is day-to-day.

Foligno's head collided with a linesman's body when he was rubbed out by Jeff Carter in Sunday's game. Foligno was laying facedown on the ice and had to be stretchered off. It was a scary scene and likely an injury that will sideline Foligno for a lengthy period of time.

Foligno hopes to be back for Game 3 in Columbus.
