Leddy (upper-body) will not play on Friday.

There is no word on when Leddy suffered the injury, but he will not be in the lineup on Friday due to an upper-body injury. With Leddy day-to-day, Ryan Pulock will be in the lineup and take Leddy’s spot on the Islanders’ top power-play unit.

Leddy missed Thursday's practice with an upper-body injury that he likely suffered on Tuesday vs. the Sharks. With Leddy questionable, the Islanders recalled Ryan Pulock from Bridgeport (AHL) and he will take Leddy's spot in the lineup should he be unable to play tomorrow.

The Islanders do not practice until tomorrow, so they likely won’t confirmed the report until tomorrow. If he misses two weeks, he would miss about five games, which isn’t too bad. Expect Brian Strait to have a permanent spot on the Isles’ blue line with Leddy out.

Leddy suffered a lower-body injury in the Islanders overtime win over the Maple Leafs on Monday. He was listed as a game-time decision, but will be held out of tonight’s game against the Rangers. Leddy will be replace by Brian Strait.

Leddy left Monday’s game with a lower-body injury and did not return. With back-to-back games, Leddy’s status for tonight’s game is uncertain. Head coach Jack Capuano said he had “no idea” if Leddy will play tonight. Expect a an update a few hours before puck-drop.

The Islanders have signed Nick Leddy to a seven-year, $38.5M contract extension.

Leddy, 23, was set to become a restricted free agent at the end of the season, but is now inked through the 2021-22 season. He has scored eight goals with 17 assists and a plus-12 rating in 61 games this season.

The Islanders have acquired Nick Leddy and Kent Simpson from the Blackhawks for TJ Brennan, Ville Pokka and goaltender Anders Nilsson.

Leddy, 23, had seven goals with 24 assists (31 points) in 82 games with the Blackhawks last season. Leddy has never missed a regular season game in three NHL seasons and should be in the Isles' top-4 with a lot of power-play time.

#Blackhawks coach Joel Quenenville said defensive pairings to start will include Hjalmarsson playing with Seabrook and Keith with Leddy.

Leddy will start the season on the top defensive unit. Last season he scored four goals and seven points over 46 games with the Blackhawks. Look for him to improve his totals in his sophomore season.
