Kapanen (lower-body) was a full participant in Friday's practice.

Kapanen, who has yet to play a game this season, was a full participant on Friday, a sign that he'll be ready to make his season debut soon. He skated as a placeholder for Juraj Slafkovsky in the session, so it doesn't look like he'll play Saturday vs. Buffalo, so expect him to get in a couple of practices fore returning to the lineup.

Kapanen played in the opening four games of the playoffs but has not appeared since, serving as a healthy scratch in each of the last nine games. The 22-year-old Kapanen played in all 82 regular season games, tallying 22 goals and 15 assists. Joe Veleno will sit in his place.

Kapanen appears to be a healthy scratch for Game 5 in Tampa Bay.

Brendan Gallagher will draw into Montreal's lineup for Game Five on Wednesday, sending Kapanen to the sidelined as a healthy scratch. The 22-year-old Kapanen had a solid rookie season, scoring 37 points (22G / 15A) in 82 games, but has been held off of the scoresheet through four games this season.

Kapanen was scratched for Finland's tournament opener, but he'll replace Joel Kiviranta as the 13th forward vs. Sweden. Kapanen is having a great season with Montreal, scoring 18 goals with 13 assists (31 points) through 57 games, but he likely won't see many minutes on Friday.
