Patrice Bergeron News

Bergeron sustained a rib and sternoclavicular injury; will be re-evaluated in four weeks.

Bergeron was hurt in Dallas on Friday night and expected to miss at least one month. Bergeron will be re-evaluated in mid-December, so David Krejci is expected to get an extended look on the Bruins’ top-line. Ryan Donato is a candidate to be recalled to help with forward depth while Bergeron is out.

Bergeron (back) is expected to be ready for the Bruins season opener.

Bergeron got rid of his non-contact jersey during Monday’s practice and centred the top line with Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak on his wings. After the session, head coach Bruce Cassidy said he “anticipates [Bergeron] will be good to go for Wednesday.” Bergeron missed 18 games last season, but was on-pace for a career-high in goals (38) and points (80). A healthy season on a dominant Bruins’ top line could make Bergeron a point-per-game player in 2019.

Bergeron (foot) will “most likely” play on Sunday.

Bergeron has been out since February 25th but it looks like he’ll be back on the top line and top power-play tonight in Minnesota. Bergeron has been great this season, scoring 27 goals with 27 assists (54 points) in 55 games. Bergeron has a few weeks left to try and record his fourth career 30-30 season.

Bergeron will miss at least two weeks with a fractured right foot.

Bergeron was hurt in Toronto on Saturday but ended up playing 17:59 TOI in Sunday’s game in Buffalo. It seems like he may have played through the fractured foot and it was discovered this week. Bergeron will miss at least two weeks and will be re-evaluated after that. Riley Nash will take his place on the top line tonight and David Backes will take his spot on the top power-play.

Bergeron (lower-body) will be a game-time decision on Sunday.

Bergeron was seen wearing a walking book on his right leg following Saturday’s loss to the Maple Leafs. A walking boot can often indicate a lengthy injury absence, but the fact that he is considered a game-time decision suggests that he may not be out as long as originally feared.

Bergeron (undisclosed) will be in the Bruins lineup on Saturday.

Bergeron was a little nicked up in the Bruins final game before their bye week but was never in any real danger of missing time. Bergeron was back in his usual spot in Friday’s practice and Saturday’s morning skate so look for him to continue his recent stretch of strong play tonight in Montreal—he has six goals and two assists in his last four games.

Bergeron (lower-body) will be a game-time decision on Thursday.

Bergeron has missed the first five games of the season with a lower-body injury, but has skated in practice this week and is listed as a game-time decision for tonight’s game. Monitor Bergeron’s centre when the Bruins hit the ice for pregame warmups at 6:30pm ET.

Bergeron (lower-body) as on the ice for Tusday’s practice; “a possibility” to play on Thursday.

Bergeron has missed the first five games of the season with a lower-body injury, but he skated on the top-line in Tuesday’s practice and could play on Thursday if he is cleared for contact in the next two days.

Patrice Bergeron
Bergeron (lower-body) will not be in the lineup on Monday afternoon.

Bergeron was officially listed as a game-time decision, but it seemed unlikely he would play considering he skated with a no-contract sweater in practice over the weekend. However, it’s a positive that he is progressing and could be back in the lineup sometime this week.

Patrice Bergeron
Bergeron (lower-body) is listed as a game-time decision for Monday.

Bergeron missed the Bruins’ season opener and skated in a limited capacity over the weekend and seems questionable to play at best. The veteran centre was on the ice in a no-contact jersey and head coach Bruce Cassidy said “he didn’t finish practice [but] he’s progressing.” Expect Cassidy to speak to the media around 11 am ET.

Patrice Bergeron
Bergeron (lower-body) will miss the Bruins season opener.

Bergeron left Tuesday’s practice early with a lower-body injury and has missed the Bruins skates each of the last two days and won’t play tonight vs. Nashville. With Bergeron out, Ryan Spooner will centre the line with Brad Marchand and Anders Bjork on his wings.

Patrice Bergeron
Bergeron (lower-body) missed Wednesday’s practice; listed as day-to-day.

Bergeron left Tuesday’s practice early and wasn’t available for Wednesday’s session, which puts his status for the season opener in doubt. With Bergeron off of the ice, Ryan Spooner skated with Brad Marchand and Anders Bjork.

Patrice Bergeron
Bergeron is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Bergeron left Tuesday’s practice early and is listed as day-to-day heading into the season. There’s no word on what happened to Bergeron, but his status for the season is now in question. Monitor his status leading up to Thursday’s game vs. Nashville.

Patrice Bergeron
Bergeron (lower-body) is expected to play on Saturday.
