After a successful first season in the KHL with Barys Astana, Reilly Walsh will return to North America after it was announced Wednesday that Montreal had signed Walsh to a one-year, two-way contract. The 27-year-old's only appearance in the NHL came back with New Jersey in 2021-22, where he had an assist in one game played. He is expected to play a key part in Laval (AHL) this upcoming season.

Los Angeles continued to add to its AHL depth on Tuesday as it signed 25-year-old Reilly Walsh to a one-year, two-way contract. The defenseman has only one NHL game previously under his belt (2021-22) but appeared in 60 games for Providence (AHL) in 2023-24, picking up nine goals and 28 points.

Walsh had nine goals, 32 assists, 40 PIMs and a -6 plus/minus through 71 games played with Utica (AHL) in 2022-23 and has signed a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000 AAV with Boston. The 24-year-old defenseman was a 2017 3rd-round pick to New Jersey (81st overall) and one assist in his only NHL appearance back in 2021-22.

Walsh had nine goals, 32 assists, 40 PIMs and a -6 plus/minus through 71 games with the Utica Comets (AHL) in 2022-23 and has had his rights traded to Boston for Shane Bowers. The 24-year-old was New Jersey's 2017 third round pick (81st overall) and has played in one NHL game throughout his career.
