Things go from bad to worse for the Kings star. After being benched in Saturday's game vs. Utah, Fiala missed a team meeting and will be a healthy scratch Tuesday vs. the Sharks. Akil Thomas will make his season debut in Fiala's spot and it's unclear if he'll re-join the lineup for the second-half of the Kings' back-to-back on Wednesday.

Chartier played the last three games for the Senators but will return to the sidelines for at least a week due to an upper-body injury. In 37 games this season, Chartier has three points (2G / 1A) and a -4 plus/minus while averaging 10:46 time-on-ice.

Zack MacEwen exited Saturday's game with a lower-body injury, resulting in Chartier being recalled from the Belleville Senators of the AHL. Chartier has appeared in 34 games for Ottawa this season but has most recently played with Belleville, where he has 10 points (7G / 3A) in 12 games.

Chartier was moved to the Long-Term Injured Reserve Tuesday as a corresponding move to Mathieau Joseph being moved off the Injured Reserve. Chartier has been on the IR since December 15th due to an upper body injury and put a halt to his season after two points (1G/1A) in 25 games played.

Chartier had 20 goals, eight assists, and a -2 plus/minus through 40 games with Belleville (AHL) in 2022-23 and has signed a one-year, two-way contract extension worth $775,000. The 27-year-old right winger made six appearances for the Senators last season but was unable to pick up a point. He has a goal and a -5 plus/minus through 19 career NHL games.
