Hartman was acquired from the Blackhawks on Monday and will immediately step into the Predators lineup on Tuesday. Hartman, who has collected eight goals and 17 assists (25 points) in 57 games this season, will start on the fourth line but there’s a strong chance he moves up to at least the third line in the near future.

The Predators have acquired Ryan Hartman and a 2018 5th round pick from the Blackhawks for Victor Edjsell, a 2018 1st round pick and a 2018 4th round pick.
Hartman was a first round pick in 2012 and has built on a solid 2016-17 season, picking up 25 points (8G / 17A) in 57 games with the Blackhawks this season. With Chicago falling out of favour in the Western Conference and the Predators taking an all-in approach, Hartman brings a ton of versatility to the Nashville bottom-6.

Hartman was a late scratch from Friday’s lineup but has back on the ice for the Blackhawks practice on Saturday and will play on Sunday. Hartman, who will skate on the second line with Patrick Kane, has seven goals and 12 assists (19 points) in 36 games this season.

Hartman was a late scratch on Friday with an upper-body injury. The Blackhawks said that he didn't feel right at the morning skate so they held him out vs. the Golden Knights. Monitor Hartman's status heading into Sunday's game vs. the Oilers.

Hartman cracked the Blackhawks’ opening night roster, but only lasted four periods before getting hurt in Friday’s loss to the Predators. Look for Dennis Rasmussen to be in the lineup on Saturday.

Hartman has the unenviable task of trying to replaced the beloved Andrew Shaw in Chicago. The former first round pick (30th overall in 2013) had 35 points (15G / 20A) in 61 games with Rockford (AHL) last season and one assist in three NHL games. He is expected to make the team and start on a hybrid checking/scoring line with Marcus Kruger and Marian Hossa.

The Blackhawks have a pretty veteran D-corp, but he could slide in for David Rundblad sometime in the near future.

Hartman, 19, was the Blackhawks first round pick (30th overall) in this year's NHL Entry Draft. The 5-foot-11, 181 lbs. forward had 60 points (23G / 37A), a plus-29 rating and 120 PIMs in 56 games with the Plymouth Whalers last season. In 2013-14 he has 21 points (10G / 11A), a minus-14 rating and 38 PIMs in 20 games with Plymouth.
