Doan announced his retirement in the newspaper following a 21-year career with the Arizona Coyotes. The 40-year-old was the seventh overall pick in 1995 and appeared in 1540 career NHL games, scoring 402 goals and 570 assists (972 points). Doan had 28 points (15G / 13A) in 55 career playoff games, but the Coyotes only made it out of the first round in eight of their nine playoff appearances.
Doan will miss his second straight game with a lower-body injury that he suffered last Thursday vs. the Red Wings. With Doan out, Anthony Duclair will remain in the lineup. The veteran winger is day-to-day.
Doan, 39, bounced back from a disappointing 2014-15 season, by scoring 28 goals (his most since 2008-09) with 19 assists (47 points) in 72 games. Entering his 21st year with the Coyotes, Doan sits 96th in NHL history with 945 points, just 55 points short of 1,000 for his career. He will take a shot at 1,000, but hasn’t registered 55-plus points since 2010-11.
Doan was on the ice for the Coyotes’ morning skate, but will miss his fifth consecutive game with a lower-body injury. According to head coach Dave Tippet, Doan is “close,” so he could be back on Friday vs. the Sabres.
Doan has missed the last three games with a lower-body injury, but he will travel with the Coyotes to Nashville for Tuesday’s game. It seems unlikely that Doan will play tomorrow, but he should play on the road trip.
Doan missed Thursday’s game, but will be back in the lineup tonight vs. the Ducks. Doan has 14 goals and 22 assists (36 points) in 78 games this season.
Doan suffered an upper-body injury on Tuesday and was forced from the game. He was able to participate in the morning skate, but did not take part in line rushes and will be held out of the lineup tonight. Henrik Samuelsson has been recalled and will play in Doan’s spot.
Doan has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury, but could be back tonight vs. the Jets. Monitor his status during pre-game warmups.

This doesn’t come as a big surprise considering Doan was listed as doubtful on Wednesday. He will come out of the lineup, but thankfully for the Coyotes, Martin Hanzal is healthy and will replace Doan in the lineup. Monitor his status leading up to Saturday’s game in Minnesota.
Doan played just 13:31 compared to his 18:30 TOI AVG, so he must have suffered an injury in the late stages of Tuesday’s game vs. San Jose. With Doan likely to come out of the lineup, Martin Hanzal is expected to return.
