Taylor Fedun has been recalled from Wilkes-Barre (AHL) on an emergency basis.

Fedun has three goals, seven assists, 20 PIMs and a -2 plus/minus through 53 games played with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL) and has been recalled to Pittsburgh for the first time this season. The 34-year-old will replace the injured Marcus Petterson in Pittsburgh's lineup and will hope to add to his 35 career points (8G/27A) through 127 career GP.

Fedun did not see any action with the Pittsburgh Penguins and will head back to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL) on Friday. The 34-year-old has two assists, 12 PIMs and a +3 plus/minus through 30 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season.

Fedun had four goals and seven assists (11 points) in 54 games with Dallas last year and also appeared in seven games on their playoff run. The 31-year-old defenseman will likely remain as the Stars’ No.6/7th blueline option in 2020.

Fedun has split his 2017-18 season between the NHL and AHL so far this season. Fedun has one assist in two NHL games and two assists in four games with Rochester. He takes Zach Redmond’s spot on the roster.

Fedun, 29, split his 2016-17 season between the AHL and NHL, so he gets another two-way deal. Fedun had seven assists in 27 games with the Sabres and added 23 points (5G / 18A) in 29 games with Rochester. Fedun will likely start the 2017-18 season in the AHL or as the Sabres’ No.7 defenseman.

Fedun left Friday’s game with an undisclosed injury and will not play Monday in Detroit. Fedun was filling in for Justin Falk but only lasted two games. Brady Austin has been recalled from the AHL to fill-in for Fedun vs. the Red Wings.
