Anaheim Ducks News

Stalock will start Monday in Nashville.

Stalock was 10-10-4 with a 2.85 GAA, .910 SV% and one shutout as the Wild’s backup last season. Devan Dubnyk has had a good start to the season, but they’ll get Stalock his first start of the season tonight in Nashville. The Predators come in at 4-1-0 while averaging 3.00 goals for per game.

Gibson will start Saturday in Dallas.

Gibson allowed two goals on 39 shots in the Ducks overtime loss to the Coyotes on Wednesday. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Gibson, who has an impressive 1.44 GAA, .955 SV% and one shutout to start the 2018-19 season. The 25-year-old did not face Dallas last season, but they come in averaging 4.00 goals for per game in their first three games.

Gibson will start Monday vs. the Red Wings.

Gibson stopped all 41 shots that he faced in the Ducks shutout win over the Coyotes on Saturday. It was a terrible game for the Ducks, but Gibson absolutely stole two points for the road team. Gibson has been stellar to start the year, stopping 72 of 74 shots (.973 SV%) and is a must-start tonight vs. the Red Wings.

Gibson will start the Ducks season opener in San Jose.

Gibson has been the best goalie in the NHL over the last three years, posting the league’s best SV% (.924) and GAA (2.26) while ranking third for third in shutouts (14). The Ducks have a stout bluleine that makes things easy on Gibson and he could be the best goalie in fantasy this season if he is able to start 60-plus games again.

Fabbri is day-to-day with a Grade 1 groin strain.

The good news is that Fabbri’s lower-body injury is not related to his knee that cost him all of last season. Blues head coach Mike Yeo said that there is “no plan” for Fabbri right now, but he will take a couple of days off and see where he is at after that. There is still a chance that Fabbri is ready for the start of the regular season on October 4th.

Robby Fabbri
The Blues have re-signed Robby Fabbri to a one-year, $925K contract.

Fabbri re-injured his knee in training camp last year and missed the entire 2017-18 season. The 22-year-old has averaged 19 goals and 25 assists (43 points) per 82 games over the first two seasons of his NHL career. Fabbri is expected to be ready for the start of the 2019 season and will be a middle-6 winger for a team that has improved a lot this offseason.

The Panthers have signed Frank Vatrano to a one-year deal worth $925K.

Vatrano split his 2018 season between the Bruins and Panthers. The 23-year-old had eight points (5G / 3A) in 16 games with Florida, finishing the year with 10 points (7G / 3A) in 41 games. Vatrano seemed to have found a nice home in Florida and should be a bottom-6 winger with them to start 2019.

Gibson (upper-body) returned to practice on Monday but remains questionable for Game 1.

Gibson missed the last three games of the regular season, but practiced for the first time in more than a week on Monday. Gibson’s availability will be key to the Ducks’ first-round success, but Ryan Miller showed he is capable of holding things down if Gibson isn’t 100 percent for Game 1.
