Buffalo Sabres News

Bishop will start Tuesday vs. the Canucks.

Bishop was pulled after allowing three goals on 15 shots in the Stars come-from-behind win in Edmonton on Saturday. Bishop seems to either play great and win or get pulled. Overall, he has gone 6-5-1 with a 2.29 GAA (4th in the NHL) and .925 SV% (t-6th) in 14 starts. Vancouver has lost three of their last four (1-2-1) on the road.

The Sabres have recalled Tage Thompson from Rochester (AHL).

Thompson is tied for the team lead with 12 points (6G / 6A) in 16 games with Rochester this season. Kyle Okposo left past night's game and is questionable to play on Sunday, so look for Thompson to make his season debut in Chicago. The 2016 first-round pick has 21 points (10G / 11A) in 106 career NHL games.

The Golden Knights have signed Peyton Krebs to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Krebs was selected with the No.17 overall pick in this summer's draft. He tore his Achilles in June and recently started skating with the Golden Knights and inked his entry-level contract on Saturday afternoon. The 18-year-old had 68 points (19G / 49A) in 64 games with the Kootenay Ice (WHL), who he'll likely end up with when he's 100 percent healthy.

Bishop will start Saturday in Edmonton.

Bishop stopped 24 of 25 shots in the Stars win in Calgary on Wednesday. Bishop has rattled off three straight wins while allowing just one goal in each game with a .969 SV%. As good as he has been lately, Bishop is 3-3-0 with a .918 SV% on the road and the Oilers are great on home-ice and have won three of their last four.

Ben Bishop
Tuch (upper-body) will be back in the Vegas lineup on Wednesday.

Tuch missed the last four games with an upper-body injury that he suffered in his second game of the season (Nov.2) but will suit up vs. the Blackhawks. Tuch scored a goal in his season debut and will play on the same line tonight (with Cody Eakin and Cody Glass).

Bishop will start Wednesday in Calgary.

Bishop stopped 36 of 37 shots in the Stars win over the Avalanche last Tuesday. With Anton Khudobin starting on Sunday, Bishop has had over one week of rest prior to tonight's game in Calgary. In his last six starts, Bishop has gone 4-1-0 with a 1.51 GAA and .955 SV%, while the Flames enter play at 6-1-2 while scoring 3.78 goals per game in nine games at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Sheahan (undisclosed) will return to the Oilers lineup on Friday.

Sheahan has missed the last three games with an undisclosed injury but will play Friday vs. the Devils. Sheahan, who has no points and a minus-8 rating in 12 games this season, will centre their third line with Jujhar Khaira and Josh Archibald on his wings.

Bishop will start Tuesday vs. the Avalanche.

Bishop had his shutout bid ended late in Saturday's win over the Canadiens. He stopped 35 of 36 shots in that game and has now stopped 134 of the last 141 (.950 SV%) that he has faced. Bishop is rolling and tonight he takes on a Colorado team that is 1-3-1 while scoring just 12 goals in five games (2.40 GF/gm) without Mikko Rantanen.

Tuch is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

Tuch missed the first 13 games of the season and lasted just four periods before getting hurt again. Tuch didn't travel with the team to star their road-trip but may re-join them at some point during their four-game trip. Nicolas Roy was recalled from Chicago (AHL) and will take his spot on the roster on Tuesday.

Alex Tuch
Tuch (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision on Thursday.

All signs are pointing towards Tuch making his season debut on Thursday but he has not been medically cleared as of now. Tuch skated on the third line with Cody Eakin and Cody Glass in Wednesday's practice, so look for him to start the season there. The 23-year-old power-forward had 52 points (20G / 32A) in 74 games last season.

Bishop will start Saturday vs. the Canadiens.

Bishop was pulled for the start of the second period of Tuesday's come from behind win over the Wild. He allowed two goals on 10 shots but the move was more to inject some life into the team than a negative reflection on Bishop's play. He comes into Saturday's start having gone 2-1-0 with a 1.83 GAA and .943 SV% in his last four outings, so he's a solid option vs. the 7-4-2 Canadiens.

Ben Bishop
Greenway (upper-body) will return to the Wild lineup on Tuesday.

Greenway has missed the last two games with an upper-body injury that he suffered vs. the Oilers last Tuesday but will play tonight in Dallas. Greenway, who has five assists in nine games this year, will return on the fourth-line with Victor Rask and Ryan Donato.

Jordan Greenway
BIshop will start Tuesday vs. the Wild.

Bishop allowed two goals on 26 shots in the Stars loss to the Penguins on Saturday. After starting the season at 1-4-1 with an .899 SV%, Bishop has since gone 2-1-0 with a .958 SV% in his last three outings. He's starting to look a lot more like the goalie that we saw in 2018-19 and that makes him a great option vs. Minnesota--the Wild offence is sputtering (2.36 GF/gm) and Bishop was 4-1-0 with a 0.89 GAA, .966 SV% and one shutout against them last season.
