Andersen will start Game 4 on Saturday vs. New York.

The Hurricanes will turn back to Frederik Andersen after giving the crease to Pyotr Kochetkov in their Game 3 loss. The 34-year-old Andersen has struggled in the postseason after missing a large chunk of the regular season due to blood clots, with his 4-3-0 record, 2.58 GAA and .899 SV%. He will look to keep Carolina's season alive at home on Saturday vs. New York, who has won seven consecutive playoff games.

Kochetkov will play for the first time since April 14th but had a very impressive season, going 23-13-4 with a 2.33 GAA, .911 SV% and four shutouts. As good as Kochetkov has been in regular season play, he's struggled in his brief playoff career, going 1-3 with a 4.31 GAA and .858 SV%. Despite the goaltending change, the Hurricanes remain -148 home favourites on Thursday.

Pesce (lower-body) will miss at least the first two games of the Round 2.

Pesce has been out since Game 2 due to a lower-body injury and will miss at least the first two games of Carolina's Round 2 series vs. New York. The 29-year-old picked up an assist, one SOG, two PIMs and a +1 plus/minus through his two games played prior to his injury.

Brett Pesce
DeAngelo (wrist) will be available for Game 1 vs. the Rangers.

DeAngelo suffered a wrist injury in Game 5 vs. the Islanders, but X-rays came back negative, and he's expected to play in Game 1. DeAngelo will likely remain in the lineup until Brett Pesce returns from his lower-body injury, which could happen at some point in Round 2.

Tony DeAngelo
Pesce (lower-body) is questionable to play in Round 2.

Pesce recently removed his walking boot but his status for Round 2 is still uncertain. Head coach Rod Brind'Amour said the team remains hopeful that he'll play at some point vs. the Rangers. Look for Tony DeAngelo to remain his replacement in Game 1.

In his two playoff games before his injury, he had an assist, one SOG and two PIMs while averaging 14:18 TOI/GP.

DeAngelo (undisclosed) is fine after leaving game 4 in the third period.

DeAngelo left Game 5 in the third period after just 14:51 TOI due to an undisclosed injury but is fine and will be good to go if needed for Round 2. The 28-year-old defenseman appeared in three games after replacing the injured Brett Pesce earlier in the round, but failed to pick up a point to go along with his eight SOG and two PIMs.

Khazheyev was Carolina's 2023 fifth-round pick (158th overall) and has signed a three-year, entry-level contract starting in 2024-25. The 19-year-old Russian netminder enjoyed a strong season with Belye Medvedi Chelyabinsk (MHL), with his .927 SV% and 2.19 GAA in 28 games played.
