Philp (concussion) returned to practice on Wednesday.

Philp is an undrafted 27-year-old who made his NHL debut last season after some success at the AHL level. He scored three points (2G / 1A) in 15 games with the Oilers this season before being placed on waivers and ultimately claimed by the Carolina Hurricanes. He has zero point in two games with Carolina and has not played since suffering a concussion on January 6th.

Gostisbehere (lower body) was a full participant at practice on Wednesday.

Gostisbehere has missed several multi-week stints this season, most recently being sidelined since January 13th because of a lower-body injury. That said, when healthy, the 32-year-old Gostisbehere has been one of the most productive blueliners this season, scoring 32 points (6G / 26A) in 35 games. He hopes to return to lineup when Carolina returns to action on Thursday against the Utah Mammoth.

Bussi is expected to start Saturday in Ottawa.

Bussi has remained the more reliable option between the pipes for the Hurricanes, and will likely return there on Saturday against the Ottawa Senators. The 27-year-old Bussi continues to impress in his first NHL season and is coming off a terrific effort in Monday's 2-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres, saving 17 of 18 shots (.944 SV%). He has a 1.01 GAA and .941 SV% in his last two games (2-0-0).

Brandon Bussi
Andersen will start vs. Chicago on Thursday.

Andersen has had a woeful time in Carolina's net this season, but is coming off of his best performance in weeks, saving 29 of 30 shots (.967 SV%) in a 4-1 win over the New Jersey Devils. Prior to that, he had a disappointing 3.64 GAA and .840 SV% in his previous 12 games (2-7-3). The Hurricanes enter Thursday's contest as significant -295 home favorites against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Frederik Andersen
Robinson (upper-body) is expected to miss an extended period of time.

Robinson exited Monday's game in the first period because of an upper-body injury. Following the game, Head Coach Rod Brind'Amour stated that Robinson needs further evaluation, but the outlook was concerning, as confirmed by the announcement that he will be out indefinitely. The 30-year-old forward has 15 points (10G / 5A) in 43 games this season.

Kotkaniemi will be a healthy scratch vs. Buffalo on Monday.

With William Carrier returning from a lower-body injury, Kotkaniemi will be the odd-man out of the lineup as a healthy scratch. The 25-year-old Kotkaniemi has seen limited action this season, primarily on the fourth line, scoring seven points (2G / 5A) in 29 games.

Jesperi Kotkaniemi
Bussi will start vs. Buffalo on Monday.

Since the injury of Pyotr Kochetkov (lower body), likely ruling him out for the season, the Hurricanes have alternated between Frederik Andersen and Brandon Bussi. The 27-year-old Bussi, in his first NHL season, remains a surprising bright spot for a team with intentions of finishing in first place in the Eastern Conference. Bussi saved 15 of 16 shots (.938 SV%) in a blowout 9-1 win over the Florida Panthers on Friday, improving to 4-1-0 with a 2.04 GAA and .910 SV% in his last five games. The Hurricanes enter Monday's action as -182 home favorites against a rolling Buffalo Sabres team coming off a 5-4 overtime defeat to the Minnesota Wild for just their third loss in their last 16 games (13-2-1).

The Hurricanes placed Philp (concussion) on injured reserve on Friday.

Philp is an undrafted 27-year-old who made his NHL debut last season after some success at the AHL level. Slavic (rehab) will return to Carolina’s lineup vs. Florida on Friday.

Slavin just recently returned after missing ten games with an upper-body injury, and was given the night off after playing two games. He will return to the lineup on Friday against the Florida Panthers. The 31-year-old veteran defenseman has one assist in seven games this season.

Jaccob Slavin
Carrier (lower-body) will be out vs. Florida on Friday.

Carrier is battling an undisclosed injury, did not play for Carolina on Monday against the Detroit Red Wings, and will remain sidelined on Friday against the Florida Panthers. The 31-year-old Carrier scored a goal in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Seattle Kraken, giving him 10 points (5G / 5A) in 38 games this season.

William Carrier
Gostisbehere (illness) is doubtful to play on Friday vs. Florida.

Gostisbehere has been overcoming an illness and did not practice on Thursday. He is unlikely to play on Friday against the Florida Panthers, but the Hurricanes will be hopeful he can play on Saturday against the New Jersey Devils. The 32-year-old defenseman has cooled off a little, but is still having an excellent season, with 32 points (6G / 26A) in 35 games.

Shayne Gostisbehere
Bussi will start vs. Florida on Friday.

Bussi was serviceable in his previous outing, saving 28 of 31 shots (.903 SV%), but received no goal support as the Hurricanes were defeated 3-0 by the St. Louis Blues. The 27-year-old Bussi, in his first NHL season, remains the most reliable option between the pipes for the Hurricanes, with a 2.31 GAA and .902 SV% in 20 games (16-3-1). The Hurricanes enter Friday's contest as -172 home favorites against a Panthers team on a two-game winning streak.
