Pesce left Game 2 with a lower-body injury and did not return.

Head coach Rod Brind'Amour said that Pesce's injury is "not looking good" and that he would be re-evaluated on Tuesday. It sounds like Pesce is going to miss some time, which would be a huge blow to the Hurricanes' blueline. Luckily, they have great depth at the position and can turn to either veteran Tony DeAngelo or rookie Scott Morrow in Game 3 if Pesce is unavailable.

Andersen will start Game 2 on Monday against the Islanders.

Despite rotating starts between Andersen and Pyotr Kochetkov since the former returned from injury in early March, the Hurricanes will turn back to Andersen for a second consecutive game on Monday. Andersen has been on a tear since returning from the aforementioned injury, posting a 9-1-0 record and a .951 SV% over his final ten regular season appearances, and that form carried over into Game 1 on Saturday. Andersen allowed just a single goal on 34 shots as the Hurricanes sealed a 3-1 victory. They enter action tonight as -225 favourites over the Islanders in Game 2.

Since returning from a scary blood clotting issue, Andersen has been nothing short of spectacular for the Hurricanes. The veteran netminder has gone 9-1-0 while only allowing more than two goals once and posting a .951 SV% and three shutouts in 10 games. During last year's postseason Andersen was 5-3 with a. 1.83 GAA and .927 SV%.

Fast (upper body) did not practice and is doubtful for Game 1 on Saturday.

Fast was limited to only 6:53 time-on-ice before exiting the Hurricanes' season finale on Tuesday, a 6-3 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets, due to an upper-body injury. The 32-year-old Fast scored 19 points (6G / 13A) in 73 games this season.

Comtois has been reassigned to Chicago (AHL) on Wednedsay.

Comtois recorded an assist while playing 13:04 time-on-ice while making his Hurricanes debut in their season finale on Tuesday but has been reassigned to the AHL. The 25-year-old Comtois has 43 points (19G / 24A) in 62 games with the Chicago Wolves (AHL).

Martin will start on Tuesday in Columbus.

The Hurricanes will turn to Spencer Martin in their final game of the season on Tuesday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Martin has not played since February 29th, coinciding with Frederik Andersen's return from injury, but was solid when called upon before that. The 28-year-old Martin has a 1.97 GAA and .922 SV% in five games with the Hurricanes (4-0-1). The Hurricanes enter action as -228 road favourites.
