Svechnikov (upper body) was in a regular practice jersey Friday and will be a game-time decision Saturday.

Svechnikov appeared almost ready to return Thursday as he was originally a game-time decision with his upper-body injury but was ruled out, pushing his potential return to Saturday as the forward himself has exclaimed: "I'm ready". The 23-year-old last appeared for the Hurricanes on January 19th and has an impressive 30 points (11G/19A) in 29 games played so far in 2023-24.

Kochetkov returned from a nearly month-long absence in a 16-save (.842 SV%) loss to Vancouver in his previous start and will take the crease again Thursday in a tough showdown vs. Colorado. The 24-year-old has struggled since being called upon full-time in Frederik Anderson's absence, with his 11-8-3 record, 2.60 GAA and .898 SV%. He takes on the Colorado Avalanche Thursday, who lost both of their back-to-back matchups in their return from the All-Star break but are still 2nd in the NHL in goals per game (3.76).

Kochetkov has missed the last seven games with a concussion but will return to the crease on Tuesday against the Vancouver Canucks. The 24-year-old Kochetkov was playing tremendously in the games leading up to his injury, allowing two or fewer goals in four straight (4-0-0), posting a dazzling .936 SV%. The Hurricanes, riding a three-game winning streak, are -141 home favourites against the Vancouver Canucks, who lead the Pacific Division and have points in 11 straight (9-0-2).

Valimaki will draw into the lineup on Monday in favour of Troy Stecher, who will be a healthy scratch. Valimaki has been out of the lineup for the last six games and has only six points (0G / 6A) in 30 games, a substantial decline from the 34 points (4G / 30A) he had in 78 games last season.
