Staal has missed the last four games with a concussion and he is expected to miss the next three games because he will stay in Caroline while the team embarks on a west coast road trip.

Staal was caught by a stick in the head/neck area on Sunday and is reportedly out indefinitely after a suffering a concussion. This is a tough blow for the Hurricanes, who will be without their best two-way centre. Look for both Elias Lindholm and Victor Rask to play an increased role with Staal out. Phil Di Giuseppe was also recalled in a corresponding move.

Hall is travelling on the Devils’ three-game road-trip, but he will sit out of the first game on Tuesday. It will be the eighth consecutive game that Hall has missed, but his return could come as early as Thursday.

Jankowski was the 21st overall pick in 2012 and will play in his first career NHL game tonight in Brooklyn. Jankowski picked up 12 points (3G / 9A) in 13 games with Stockton (AHL) this season. The Canadian-born centre will draw in, but the Flames did not announce who will come out. The obvious choice would be Freddie Hamilton, but there are some rumblings that it could be Sean Monahan, who has struggled as of late.

Staal played just 2:54 before leaving Sunday’s game after taking a stick to the head and neck area. With Staal out, Victor Rask played 20:49 and Jay McClement played 15-plus minutes for the second time in 21 games. There was no post-game update on Staal’s condition, but expect an update before Tuesday’s game in New York.

Jankowski, 22, has picked up 12 points (3G / 9A) in 13 games with Stockton so far this season. The former first round pick (No.21 overall in 2012) has never appeared in an NHL game, but could make his debut this weekend.

Gostisbehere has picked up 10 points (3G / 7A) in 17 games this season, but will be a healthy scratch on Thursday. Andrew MacDonald is expected to return to the lineup from a lower-body injury and replace the Flyers’ top offensive defenseman.

Hall missed Tuesday’s game in Dallas and will miss 3-4 weeks because of a meniscus tear in his left knee. Hall has registered 12 points (5G / 7A) in 14 games this season and this loss will hurt the Devils for at least the next three weeks. With Hall out, expect Beau Bennett and Pavel Zacha to play bigger roles.

There’s no word on when Hall suffered the injury or how serious the lower-body ailment is, but it will keep him out of the lineup vs. Dallas. Hall has had a strong start to his Devils’ career, picking up 12 points (5G / 7A) in 14 games, so his absence will be huge for New Jersey.

Carrier, 21, was a second round pick (57th overall) in 2013 and is expected to make his NHL debut on Saturday. Carrier had registered three goals and one assist in seven games with Rochester this season.

Deslauriers did not make the trip to Winnipeg after sustaining a lower-body injury on a hit to the knee late in Saturday’s win over the Panthers. With Deslauriers out, Nick Baptiste has been recalled from Rochester (AHL).

Dzingel, 24, split the 2015-16 campaign between Ottawa and Binghamton (AHL). His 30 games with Ottawa were the first 30 games of his NHL career and he tallied three goals with six assists. In his time with the the “Baby Sens” he picked up 36 points (12G / 24A) in 44 contests. Dzingel figures to be in the Senators opening day roster.

Hall spent the first six years of his NHL career in Edmonton after they selected him 1st overall in the 2010 NHL Draft. Hall is coming off of a 26-goal, 39-assist (65 points) season and has a career-high of 80 points (2013-14). The 24-year-old is one of the best young wingers in the NHL and should provide the Devils with a huge boost up front. He will be reunited with his former junior teammate Adam Henrique.

Ehlers will miss his 10th consecutive game tonight vs. the Canucks, but he is expected to play Thursday in Nashville. The Jets are currently without five of their full-time forwards, so Ehlers’ return will be welcomed with open arms. He has had a solid rookie season, recording 13 goals and 18 assists (31 points) in 63 games.

Ehlers is out with an eye injury that he suffered in Thursday’s loss to the Islanders. Ehlers was hit in the face by the puck and is out indefinitely. With Ehlers out, the Jets have recalled J.C. Lipon from Manitoba (AHL).
