Donato was a healthy scratch on Thursday but will likely draw in for Danton Heinen vs. the Red Wings. Donato has one goal on four shots while averaging 13:26 TOI/GM through his first three games of the season.
Donato was a minus-2 in 12:56 TOI on Monday and has just one goal in his first three games of the season. Donato will sit tonight with Joakim Nordstrom taking his spot on the second line and Anders Bjork playing on the top power-play unit.
Bjork sat out as a healthy scratch during the Bruins 7-0 loss to the Capitals last night, but will draw in for Chris Wagner tonight in Buffalo. Bjork had 12 points (4G / 8A) in 30 games with the Bruins last season.
Shaw was expected to miss the first couple of weeks of the 2018-19 season, but told reporters that he is ready to play in the Canadiens season opener on Wednesday. There’s no indication where Shaw will slot into the Canadiens’ lineup, but he doesn’t come with any fantasy upside.
Bertuzzi appeared in a career-high 48 games with the Red Wings in 2018, collecting seven goals and 17 assists (24 points) in 48 games. Including the playoffs, Bertuzzi has scored 28 goals with 42 assists (70 points) in his last 83 AHL games. The 23-year-old will be a full-time NHLer in 2019 and could play in the Red Wings’ top-6.
Foligno missed the final six games of the regular season, but was on the ice for Monday’s practice and is expected to be in for Game 1 against the Capitals. Foligno, who finished the season with 15 goals and 18 assists (33 points) in 72 games, will centre a line with Oliver Bjorkstrand and Josh Anderson on his wings.
Khudobin allowed four goals on 32 shots in the Bruins shootout loss in Winnipeg on Tuesday. It has been a good year for the Bruins backup, but he comes into Sunday having lost four in a row (0-2-2) while allowing a combined 12 goals on 119 shots (.899 SV%). The matchup isn’t great but Khudobin has been good on the road—9-4-4 with a 2.39 GAA and .920 SV%.
