The Bruins recalled Anton Khudobin from Providence (AHL).

Khudobin struggled early in the season, going 1-5-1 with a 3.06 GAA and .885 SV% before being demoted. During his time in Providence, Khudobin went 6-3-1 with a 2.86 GAA and .892 SV%. Head coach Claude Julien would not say if Khudobin will start one of the Bruins back-to-back games on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Brossoit will make his season debut in Calgary.

Brossoit, 23, was a sixth round pick of the Flames in 2011 and tonight he will face the team that drafted him for the first time. Brossoit has gone 9-8-0 with a 2.67 GAA and .908 SV% in 21 games with Bakersfield (AHL) this season. Tonight will be his seventh career NHL start—he’s gone 0-5-1 with a 3.34 GAA and .896 SV% in the first six.

The Bruins have reassigned Anton Khudobin to Providence (AHL).

Khudobin has gone 1-5-1 with a 3.06 GAA and .885 SV% in seven starts and one relief appearance this season. Khudobin has struggled as Tuukka Rask’s backup, so he heads to the AHL after clearing waivers earlier in the week. Zane McIntyre has been recalled to take Khudobin’s spot.

Foligno (illness) returned to practice on Monday; expected to be in the lineup on Tuesday.

Foligno missed both of the Blue Jackets’ games over the weekend because of an illness, but he was back on the ice this afternoon and should be back in the lineup on Tuesday. Foligno has had a great season to date, having scored 10 goals with 12 assists (22 points) in 24 games.

Khudobin will start vs. the Avalanche.

Khudobin allowed one goal on 30 shots in the Bruins win vs. the Hurricanes last Thursday. It was Khudobin’s first win of the season and he now has a 2.75 GAA and .902 SV% in four games. Tonight he will give Tuukka Rask a night off as he faces an Avalanche team that has lost six straight games entering tonight.
