Colorado has secured some goaltending depth at the beginning of free agency by signing Trent Miner to a two-year contract extension. The 24-year-old goaltender made his NHL debut in 2024-25 with Colorado, appearing in two games and posting a .879 SV% and 2.62 GAA. He is expected to return to the Colorado Eagles (AHL) for the start of the 2025-26 season, where he posted a .918 SV%, 2.12 GAA and 22-10-9 record in 2024-25.
The Avalanche have signed Parker Kelly to a four-year contract extension worth $1.7M AAV ($6.8M total).
Colorado solidified its depth for the next four seasons after signing forward Parker Kelly to a four-year, $6.8 million contract extension ($1,700,000 AAV) on Tuesday. The 26-year-old spent the first four years of his career in Ottawa before signing with Colorado last season and posting career highs in both goals (8) and points (19) in his first season as an Avalanche player in 2024-25.

The Maple Leafs have acquired Nicolas Roy from the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for the rights to Mitch Marner.
Roy spent the previous six seasons with the Vegas Golden Knights, winning a Stanley Cup in the 2022-23 season, but will spend the 2025-26 season with the Maple Leafs after being acquired in a trade that sent superstar Mitch Marner the other way. The 28-year-old Roy has a $3 million cap hit and scored 31 points (15G / 16A) while averaging 15:13 time-on-ice in 71 games with Vegas last season.
The Bruins have signed Georgii Merkulov to a one-year extension worth $775K.
Merkulov is an undrafted 24-year-old forward that has predominantly been an AHL player. He recorded one point (0G / 1A) in six NHL games with Boston last season and was dominant in the AHL, tallying 54 points (15G / 39A) in 59 games with the Providence Bruins.
The Avalanche have acquired Gavin Brindley, a 2025 3rd Round, and a 2027 2nd Round Pick from the Blue Jackets for Charlie Coyle and Miles Wood.
Brindley was a second-round pick (No.34 overall) in 2023 but had an underwhelming first pro season, scoring just six goals and 11 assists (17 points) in 52 games with Cleveland (AHL).
