Columbus Blue Jackets News

The Blue Jackets have acquired Valeri Nichushkin from the Avalanche 2026 2nd Round Pick, 2027 3rd Round Pick, and 2028 5th Round Pick.

Nichushkin's offensive production took a dip in the 2025-26 season, scoring only 49 points (17G / 32A) in 72 games, but he remained a prominent part of the team's forward group. His departure creates a sizeable absence in Colorado's top-six, but he should be an effective contributor with his new team in Columbus. The 31-year-old Nichushkin has four years remaining in his contract with a $6.125 million AAV.

Columbus has signed Corson Ceulemans to a one-year, two-way contract.

Columbus has locked up former 1st round pick, Corson Ceulemans to a one-year, two-way contract extension after it was announced the 23-year-old would be remaining with the Blue Jackets for at least one more season. Ceulemans is expected to compete for one of Columbus' final roster spots out of training camp after a successful 2025-26 season in Cleveland (AHL) which saw him put up eight goals and 24 points in 64 games played.

Nichushkin (lower-body) will not play in Game 4 in Vegas.

Nichushkin exited Sunday's 5-3 Game Three loss to the Vegas Golden Knights in the second period after only playing 8:34 time-on-ice. The 31-year-old Nichushkin is the latest injury concern for an Avalanche team that has trouble staying healthy as they trail their third-round series 3-0. Nichushkin has four points (2G / 2A) in 12 games this postseason.

The Blue Jackets have signed Charlie Coyle to a six-year contract worth $6.0M AAV ($36.0M total).

Coyle is coming off an impressive first season in Columbus and has been rewarded with a six-year contract extension. The 33-year-old forward scored 58 points (20G / 38A) in 82 games this season, just two points short of the career-high 60-point campaign he had two years ago.

Greaves will start Tuesday vs. the Capitals.

With Columbus officially eliminated from playoff contention, they will turn to Jet Greaves for their final game of the season on Tuesday vs. Washington. The 25-year-old will be making his 55 appearance of the season in his first full campaign and has put up an incredibly respectable 26-18-9 record, alongside his .908 SV% and 2.61 GAA. He will host the Washington Capitals on Tuesday for what could be Alex Ovechkin's final game in the NHL.

Christiansen is expected to draw back into the Blue Jackets' lineup on Tuesday.

After being a healthy scratch for Columbus' previous contest, Jake Christiansen will rejoin Columbus' lineup for the final game of the season as he replaces Egor Zamula vs. Washington. The 26-year-old has yet to find the back of the net this season but has three assists, eight PIMs and a -6 plus/minus.

Graves allowed four goals on 23 shots in the Blue Jackets' loss in Buffalo on Thursday. Greaves and the Blue Jackets have slipped lately. He is 2-5-1 with a 2.62 GAA and .906 SV% in his last seven starts, but the Blue Jackets remain alive in the Metropolitan playoff race. He draws a tough matchup on Saturday, as he faces the Canadiens on the road--Columbus are +113 road underdogs.
