Zamula was waived by Philadelphia on Thursday and went unclaimed on Friday leading to his inevitable demotion to Lehigh Valley (AHL). He will now provide Philadelphia with defensive depth from the minors as he works to make his way back up to the big club.

He has an ugly 3.87 GAA and .885 SV% in 12 games (6-5-1). Despite his poor statistics, Merzlikins has quality starts in 50 percent of his games, his best rate in the last five seasons. The Blue Jackets enter Thursday's contest as +102 home underdogs against a Senators team that has lost five of its last six games (1-5-0).

Still, the Blue Jackets enter Tuesday’s contest as +173 road underdogs against a Carolina Hurricanes team that has only scored one goal in three of their last four games (2-2-0).

With Evgeni Malkin (upper body) and Blake Lizotte (undisclosed) placed on Injured Reserve, Pittsburgh has recalled Danton Heinen and Samuel Poulin from Wilkes-Barre Scranton (AHL). The 30-year-old Heinen is an NHL veteran of 575 games, but has spent most of the 2025-26 season in the AHL, where he has 18 points (6G / 12A) in 12 games.
