Dallas Stars News

Harley (lower-body) will return to Dallas' lineup in Winnipeg on Tuesday.

Harley has not played since November 13th, and few details have been revealed about his injury. He was back at practice on Friday and will return to the lineup on Tuesday against the Winnipeg Jets. The 24-year-old Harley was battling the injury before being sidelined, resulting in a lackluster start to the season, with 10 points (1G / 9A) and a -7 plus/minus in 18 games. Before the start of the season, Stars' Head Coach Glen Gulutzan hinted that Harley and Miro Heiskanen may split time on the team's powerplay unit, but given Heiskanen's hot start to the season, it's unlikely that Harley sees much time outside of the second unit.

DeSmith is expected to start in Winnipeg on Tuesday.

The red-hot Stars have points in 15 of their last 16 games (13-1-2), which can be largely attributed to solid tandem netminding from Jake Oettinger and Casey DeSmith. The 34-year-old DeSmith will return to the crease on Tuesday against the Winnipeg Jets. DeSmith has been outstanding in a supporting role this season, helping his team record at least a point in nine straight games (6-0-3) while posting a tremendous 1.90 GAA and .933 SV%. The Stars enter Tuesday's contest as -127 road favorites against a Jets team that has lost three of their last four (1-2-1).

Oettinger will start vs. San Jose on Friday.

The Stars have been among the hottest teams in the league, going 15-2-5 in their last 22 games, all without needing Oettinger to be spectacular. That said, the 26-year-old Oettinger is coming off his second shutout of the season, a 30-save performance in a 3-0 win over the New Jersey Devils. He has a 2.60 GAA and .906 SV% in 18 games this season (12-4-2). The Stars enter Friday's contest as significant -276 home favorites against a San Jose Sharks team coming off an embarrassing 7-1 loss to the Washington Capitals.

The 26-year-old Oettinger has a 2.76 GAA and .900 SV% in 17 games (11-4-2) and has yet to consistently string together elite performances this season. The Stars enter Wednesday's contest as slight +102 road underdogs against a Devils team that has gone 4-5-0 since Jack Hughes’ injury (hand).

Seguin was favoring his knee after an awkward collision, leaving in the first period of Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the New York Rangers. Stars' Head Coach Glen Gulutzan said following the game that he was remaining hopeful, but given Seguin's injury history in recent years, there is cause for concern. The 33-year-old Seguin has 17 points (7G / 10A) in 27 games this season.
