Talbot exited Sunday's game against the Vancouver Canucks due to a lower-body injury and did not return. With Alex Lyon (lower body) also sidelined, the Red Wings crease will belong to Ville Husso in the interim. The Red Wings also recalled Sebastian Cossa from the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL) on an emergency basis.

Lagesson has yet to appear in an NHL game this season and likely won't play Tuesday in Boston. WIth Jeff Petry banged up, Lagesson is expected to serve as a reserve defenseman on their road-trip.

The move is retroactive to November 23rd, so Kane is eligible to be activated and return to the lineup whenever he is healthy. He was already ruled out for Tuesday's game, so moving him to IR is simply a formality to open up a roster spot to recall William Lagesson from Grand Rapids (AHL). Kane should be considered questionable to play Thursday in Ottawa.
