Head coach Greg Cronin did not have much of an update on Gibson's status post-game, only saying that he "cramped up or something.” Consider Gibson questionable for Tuesday's game in Montreal.

The Ducks make their return to the ice from the All-Star break on Friday night and will turn to John Gibson between the pipes. Gibson last played on January 31st, saving 26 of 28 shots (.929 SV%) in a 3-2 win over the San Jose Sharks. The 30-year-old Gibson has a tough task at hand as the Ducks are significant +236 road underdogs against a high-scoring Edmonton Oilers club that lost for the first time in 16 games on Tuesday against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Faulk had missed the Blues' previous four games due to a lower-body injury and has officially been placed on the Injured Reserve Thursday with expectations that he will be out week-to-week. The 31-year-old had struggled through the first half of the season with two goals, 19 points, 90 SOG, 10 PIMs and a -5 plus/minus through 40 games played.

Chiarot has not played since January 19th, missing five games with an upper-body injury, but could return to the lineup as soon as Saturday. Chiarot has 12 points (3G / 9A), 84 hits, and 93 blocks in 45 games this season and will likely replace Justin Holl when he is ready to return.

The veteran winger has not played a game yet this season after being placed on injured reserve in mid-October. After several down seasons, Arvidsson has refound his game as a Los Angeles King, scoring 108 points (46G / 62A) in 143 games over the previous two seasons. He will return to practice on Thursday and could make his return to the Kings' lineup over the next few weeks.

Gibson will start for the third time in the last four games when the Ducks face off against the San Jose Sharks. Gibson allowed four goals on 44 shots (.909 SV%) in his last outing, a 4-3 overtime loss to the Dallas Stars. The 30-year-old netminder has lost three of his last four (1-2-1), posting a .908 SV%. The Ducks enter action as -177 home favourites against a Sharks team that played last night and defeated the Seattle Kraken 2-0.

The Ducks will turn to Gibson for the 30th time this season when they travel to Dallas on Thursday. Gibson was solid his last time out, stopping 28 of the 30 shots he faced enroute to a 4-2 victory over the Sabres on Tuesday. The effort helped raise his SV% to an even .900 on the year. He'll draw a much tougher assignment on Thursday, however, and may have a hard time avoiding a league-leading 20th loss of the season with the Ducks being +260 underdogs in Dallas.

Compher did not participate in practice on Wednesday due to an illness but is good to go for Thursday's game against the Philadelphia Flyers. Compher recorded a late tally in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Dallas Stars and has three points (2G / 1A) during a three-game point streak.

After starting four straight, Tarasov served as the backup to Elvis Merzlikins in the last three contests but will return to the crease on Thursday night in Calgary. Tarasov has lost his last three games (0-2-1), allowing four or more goals in each, posting an abysmal .840 SV%. The Blue Jackets have been outscored 8-2 in their last two games (0-2-0) and are +168 road underdogs against the Flames.

Bryson will draw in for the injured Mattias Samuelsson (undisclosed). Bryson is yet to register a point in three games with the Sabres this season.

Blues interim-head coach Drew Bannister added Faulk is day-to-day with the lower-body injury. Scott Perunovich will draw into the lineup in Faulk's place.

Compher did not participate in practice on Wednesday due to an illness and his status is up in the air for Thursday's game against the Philadelphia Flyers. Compher recorded a late tally in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Dallas Stars and has three points (2G / 1A) during a three-game point streak.

The Ducks have been terrible lately, losing 10 of 12 (2-9-1), paralleled by poor play from Gibson, as he has an ugly .858 SV% in his last six contests (1-5-0). Bryson has spent most of his season as a healthy scratch for the Sabres or playing for the Rochester Americans (AHL), where he has three points (0G / 3A) in 10 games. In three games with the Sabres, he has two hits and six blocks while averaging 9:26 time-on-ice.
