Jones was banged up in the All-Star game and was not on the ice for Monday’s practice, but is expected to play Tuesday vs. Buffalo. Jones enjoyed a successful All-Star weekend and returned to his team with seven goals and 22 assists (29 points) in 41 games this season.
Bobrovsky returns to the crease after sitting for one game due to team decision and serving as Joonas Korpisalo’s backup last night. Bobrovsky allowed four goals on 19 shots in a loss in Tampa Bay in his last start and has given up 17 goals on 119 shots (.857 SV%) in his last five starts.
Berube came up for one game to backup Joonas Korpisalo while Sergei Bobrovsky was away from the team. He returns to the AHL where he has gone 11-10-0 with a 2.94 GAA and .899 SV% in 24 games.
Forsling missed the previous two games and was moved to IR prior to Wednesday’s game vs. the Predators. The Blackhawks have quality blue line depth so this injury won’t cripple them.
Berube is expected to serve as Joonas Korpisalo’s backup on Thursday because Sergei Bobrovsky will not be with the team tonight. Berube has gone 11-10-0 with a 2.94 GAA and .899 SV% in 24 AHL games this season.
“There are certain expectations and values that we have established for our players that define our culture,” said Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen. “An incident occurred in which Sergei failed to meet those expectations and values, so we made the decision that he would not be with the team for tonight’s game. This is an internal matter and we will have no further comment at this time.”
Reinhart missed Monday’s practice but was back on the ice for Tuesday’s morning skate and is officially listed as a game-time decision. Reinhart has been red-hot since mid-November, picking up 27 points (7G / 20A) in his last 22 games.
Bobrovsky allowed three goals on 30 shots in the Blue Jackets win in Florida on Saturday. Bobrovsky has allowed at least three goals in four straight games, going 2-2-0 with a 3.76 GAA and .870 SV% over that stretch. The cold streak will likely continue in Tampa Bay—Bobrovksy allowed eight(!!!) goals on 31 shots in an 8-2 loss in Tampa Bay on October 13th.
Bobrovsky was pulled after allowing three goals on 16 shots in the Blue Jackets loss in Carolina last night. Bobrovsky has now surrendered three-plus goals in three straight games, giving up a total of 10 goals on 70 shots (.857 SV%). He heads into Florida at 8-5-0 with a 2.91 GAA and .910 SV% on the road this year.
Bobrovsky allowed three goals on 25 shots in the Blue Jackets win over the Senators on Monday. Bobrovsky has won five of his last six (5-1-0) while posting a 1.84 GAA, .941 SV% and two shutouts. Bobrovsky is red-hot and draws a solid matchup against a Hurricanes team that played last night and is 10-7-4 on home-ice this season.
Marchand missed the Bruins last contest but will be back in the lineup against the Blackhawks for the Winter Classic. Marchand will be back on the Bruins’ top line and enters play with 12 goals and 29 assists (41 points) in 38 games this season.
