Markstrom allowed five gaols on 24 shots in the Canucks loss in Winnipeg on Monday. After Anders Nilsson was lit up for seven on Wednesday the Canucks will come back to Markstrom tonight vs. the Sharks. In his firs start against San Jose, Markstrom allowed three goals on 29 shots in a 5-0 loss in mid-November.

Markstrom allowed three goals on 25 shots in the Canucks loss to the Flyers last Thursday. Markstrom has gone 2-1-0 while turning away 87 of 91 shots (.956 SV%). Markstrom has struggled a bit on the road this season, going 4-3-1 with a 2.60 GAA and .905 SV% in eight starts and one relief appearance away from Vancouver this season.

Barkov missed Saturday’s loss to Colorado but was back on the Panthers top line at Monday’s morning skate so look for him to suit up against the Red Wings tonight. Barkov has placed himself firmly as one of the NHL’s best centres this season and comes into Monday with four goals and two assists (six points) in his last six games.

Barkov suffered the injury midway through Thursday’s win over the Jets but it sounds like a minor injury that will only cost him a game or two. After tonight the Panthers travel to Detroit for a meeting with the Red Wings on Monday, so monitor Barkov’s status during their morning skate in a few days.

Barkov picked up one assist in 12:12 TOI before leaving last night’s win over the Jets with an upper-body injury. Barkov has been all but ruled out of Saturday’s game but the Panthers are hopeful that he will play Monday vs. the Red Wings. Their optimism suggests that the injury is very minor so it looks like Barkov owners have dodged a bullet.

Markstrom stopped all 30 shots that he faced in the Canucks’ shutout win over the Hurricanes on Tuesday. Markstrom has won two in a row while turning aside 65 of the 66 shots (.985 SV%) that he has faced. In his first start against the Flyers, Markstrom stopped 36 of 38 shots in a 5-2 win back in late-November.

Markstrom made 35 saves on 36 shots in the Canucks win over the Maple Leafs on Saturday. Markstrom has just two wins in his last seven starts and has allowed at least three goals in five of those games. Tonight the Canucks host the Hurricanes and Markstrom comes in at 3-5-2 with a 2.49 GAA and .919 SV5% on home-ice this season.

Jaromir Jagr was unavailable for Tuesday’s game vs. the Maple Leafs so Hathaway’s recall suggests that Jagr won’t be available on Thursday. The heavy winger (6-foot-2 / 208 lbs.) has registered 11 goals and eight assists (19 points) in 18 games with Stockton this season.

Marchand missed the last six games with an undisclosed injury but will be back in the lineup tonight vs. the Lightning. Marchand will be reunited with Patrice Bergeron and David Pastrnak on the top line and comes into play with 15 points (8G / 7A) in 14 games this season.

Marchand has missed the last six games with an injury, but skated on the top line in Tuesday’s practice and is a game-time decision for Wednesday’s game. Monitor his status during tomorrow’s gameday skate.

Markstrom allowed three goals on 26 shots in the Canucks loss in New Jersey on Friday. Markstrom has now lost four of his last five starts while allowing a combined 16 goals on 157 shots (.898 SV%). Markstrom is 4-3-0 with a 2.57 GAA and .910 SV% in seven starts and a relief appearance on the road this season.

Marchand has yet to be cleared to play, so he will miss his sixth consecutive game with an undisclosed injury. The Bruins have played week without Marchand, going 4-1-0 in those five contests.
