Barkov (upper-body) is expected to play Monday in Detroit.

Barkov missed Saturday’s loss to Colorado but was back on the Panthers top line at Monday’s morning skate so look for him to suit up against the Red Wings tonight. Barkov has placed himself firmly as one of the NHL’s best centres this season and comes into Monday with four goals and two assists (six points) in his last six games.

Aleksander Barkov
Barkov (upper-body) will not play Saturday vs. the Avalanche.

Barkov suffered the injury midway through Thursday’s win over the Jets but it sounds like a minor injury that will only cost him a game or two. After tonight the Panthers travel to Detroit for a meeting with the Red Wings on Monday, so monitor Barkov’s status during their morning skate in a few days.

Hinostroza has been recalled from Rockford (AHL) and will play on Friday.

The 23-year-old has 14 points (6G/ 8A) in 56 career NHL games and will make his season debut tonight vs. the Sabres. The Blackhawks did not announce who he will replace in the lineup, but look for him to take Lance Bouma’ spot in the bottom-6.
