Markstrom will start Tuesday vs. the Rangers.

Markstrom allowed three goals on 26 shots in the Canucks’ win in New York last Thursday. Ryan Miller started the last two games, but Markstrom will go tonight against the Rangers, again. Markstrom has won four of his seven starts while posting a 2.23 GAA and .915 SV%. Versus the NHL’s top offence, Markstrom is a very risky option.

Tkachuk (wrist) is expected to return to the Flames’ lineup on Tuesday.

Tkachuk missed the last two games with a wrist injury, but he was back at practice on Monday and is expected to play on Tuesday. Tkachuk has registered six points (3G / 3A) in his first 12 career NHL games. Tkachuk is expected to skate on the Flames’ second line with Mikael Backlund and Michael Frolik.

Markstrom will start Tuesday in New York.

Markstrom allowed on goal on 24 shots in the Canucks’ 1-0 shutout loss in Ottawa last Thursday. After winning his first three starts, Markstrom has dropped his last three games (0-2-1) while posting a 2.63 GAA and .910 SV%. Markstrom is a risky start whenever he gets the call, but even more so tonight vs. the Rangers, who lead the NHL with 4.23 goals per game.

Jones will miss three weeks with a hairline fracture in his foot.

Jones suffered the injury on Saturday in St. Louis and will miss the next three weeks. Missing three weeks would mean that Jones will miss the next 10 games, which is a huge loss for the Blue Jackets. The 22-year-old has six points (3G / 3A) in 10 games while averaging 24:14 TOI per game. Zach Werenski and Jack Johnson will likely be leaned on more heavily with Jones out.

Seth Jones
Markstrom will start Thursday in Ottawa.

Markstrom allowed four goals on 34 shots in the Canucks’ loss to the Capitals on Saturday. Ryan Miller started last night, so Markstrom will go tonight in Ottawa. Markstrom has had a strong start to the year as the Canucks’ backup, but won’t get much in the way of goal support. Markstrom comes in with a 2.35 GAA and .913 SV%, but is a risky start on any given night.
