RALEIGH, NC – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled forward Zac Dalpe from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). Rutherford also announced that forward Drayson Bowman has been reassigned to Charlotte.

Look for Dalpe to replace Jussi Jokinen on a scoring line once he gets his timing back. In the meantime, he probably starts on the fourth line.

Forward Zac Dalpe has been sidelined with a lower-body injury since the Canes' Oct. 14 game against the Buffalo Sabres. Dalpe has returned to practice and Canes coach Paul Maurice said Tuesday he was close to being back in full-contact work.

Dalpe is a young guy with 20 career games under his belt, and 4 points, so let's wait and see how he performs first.

Forward Zac Dalpe, out since Oct. 14 with a lower-body injury, was out of the yellow, non-contact jersey and in a white jersey, but Canes coach Paul Maurice said he is not ready to rejoin the lineup.

Dalpe has been skating for a few days now, which is an encouraging sign for the team. The Canes top prospect was held pointless over his first five games this year.
