Spurgeon will be a game-time decision on Monday because of an illness.
Spurgeon is a question mark for tonight’s game in Winnipeg because of an illness, so the Wild have recalled Ryan Murphy and he may draw in and make his Wild debut if Spurgeon can’t play.
Johansson (concussion) has been cleared to play and will travel on the Devils’ upcoming road trip.
Johansson has been out since November 1st and will not play Monday vs. the Panthers, but it looks like he can return on their upcoming road trip. Johansson has five points (3G / 2A) in 10 games this season.
Call up / Send down
The Wild have reassigned Joel Eriksson Ek to Iowa (AHL).
Pitlick (upper-body) is expected to return to the Stars lineup on Monday.
Pitlick has missed the last games but is expected to replace Remi Elie in the lineup tonight. Pitlick has registered two goals and two assists in his first 14 games of the season.
Line Change
The Stars have placed Tyler Pitlick (undisclosed) on IR.
Pitlick suffered an injury vs. the Sabres last Saturday and was set to miss his second straight game tonight. His move to IR created a roster spot for Radek Faksa and Brett Ritchie to return to the lineup tonight.
The Devils have placed Marcus Johansson (concussion) on IR.
Pitlick (upper-body) will not play on Monday.
Pitlick suffered an upper-body injury in Saturday’s game vs. the Sabres and it will keep him sidelined on Monday. With Pitlick out, Jamie Oleksiak will draw into the lineup as a forward.
Tarasenko is dealing with an upper-body injury; questionable for Tuesday’s game in New Jersey.
Tarasenko reportedly suffered an upper-body injury in Toronto on Saturday and left practice early on Monday. Head coach Mike Yeo said that the injury shouldn’t be serious but they’re monitoring the start winger.
Johansson (upper-body) will not be in the lineup on Friday.
Johansson left Wednesday’s game after crashing face-first into the board in Vancouver. He will be held out for a suspected concussion and is questionable for Sunday’s game in Calgary.

Johansson returned to the lineup on Wednesday after missing one game with a lower-body injury and he did not last long. Johansson crashed face-first into the end boards during his first shift of the game, but was able to leave the ice under his own power after being attended to by the medical staff. Head coach John Hynes said Johansson will be re-evaluated on Thursday.
Foligno will miss a minimum of one week with a left facial fracture.
Foligno dropped the mitts with Blackhawks’ forward John Hayden and was absolutely devastated by a right haymaker, fracturing a facial bone in the process. Foligno joins a long list of injured Wild forwards, but is only expected to miss a week or so.
Foligno (face) has been ruled out of Saturday’s game.
Foligno was absolutely blasted by a John Hayden haymaker in a fight last night and may have suffered a facial fracture. Foligno could miss some time beyond Saturday’s game vs. Columbus.
Bogosian (lower-body) will not play in the Sabres season opener.
Bogosian has had a terrible time with injuries during his career, missing a combined 64 games over the last three seasons. With Bogosian out, Matt Tennyson will be on the blueline, paired with Marco Scandella.
The Devils acquired Marcus Johansson from the Capitals for a 2018 2nd round pick and a 2018 3rd round pick.
The Kings have signed Cal Petersen to a two-year entry level contract.
Petersen, 22, was a fifth round pick in 2013 and signed with the Kings as a college free agent after three years at Notre Dame. Last season, Petersen was 23-12-5 with a 2.22 GAA and .926 SV% in 40 starts with the Fighting Irish and should report to Ontario (AHL) to start 2017-18.
The Stars have signed Tyler Pitlick to a three-year deal worth $3.0M ($1.0M AAV).
Pitlick has split his time between the AHL and NHL in his first three professional seasons. Last year he had 21 points (7G / 14A) in 37 games with Bakersfield and 11 points (8G / 3A) in 31 games with Edmonton. He is a capable scorer with good size (6-foot, 202 lbs) who brings some offence and some upside to the Stars bottom-6.
The Wild acquired Marcus Foligno, Tyler Ennis and a 2018 3rd round pick from the Sabres for Marco Scandella, Jason Pominville and a 2018 4th round pick.
Foligno is a big-body (6’2” / 215 lbs.) that has improved offensively in each of his six NHL seasons, setting a new career-high in goals (13) and tying a career-best in points (23) a season ago. Foligno will likely take Pominville’s spot as a third line winger in Minnesota, but doesn’t offer nearly any fantasy value due to his limited power play exposure.
