With the Blue Jackets dealing with some major injuries in their forward group, Gambrell was recalled earlier this week but did not crack the lineup and will return to the Cleveland Monsters (AHL). He signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Blue Jackets in the offseason. The 27-year-old has plenty of NHL experience, playing 233 career games for the Sharks and Senators.

Gambrell spent the entire 2024 season with the Toronto Marlies (AHL), scoring 14 goals with 22 assists (36 points) in 66 games. Gambrell provides the Blue Jackets with some organizational centre depth but will likely start the year in the AHL. The 27-year-old has plenty of NHL experience, playing 233 career games for the Sharks and Senators.

Gambrell had four goals, six assists, 46 SOG, 35 PIMs and a -4 plus/minus through 60 games with Ottawa in 2022-23 and has signed a one-year, $775,000 contract with the Maple Leafs. The 26-year-old centre has 17 goals, 23 assists, and a -28 plus/minus through 233 NHL games played and will make a solid depth piece for Toronto.


Gambrell has a goal, 21 SOG, 27 PIMs and a -8 plus/minus through 32 games played this season but will be a healthy scratch Monday as the Senators take on Calgary. Austin Watson will fill be drawing into the lineup instead of Gambrell.

Gambrell was a healthy scratch for the Senators' last game but will draw back into the lineup for Mark Kastelic (undisclosed) Wednesday vs. the New York Islanders. The 26-year-old has one goal, 21 SOG and a -5 plus/minus through 27 games played this season.

Gambrell was a healthy scratch for the Senators' previous game but finds himself back in the lineup in place of Parker Kelly Thursday. The 26-year-old has only appeared in eight games thus far but has a goal, seven shots, and 17 PIMs in eight games this season.

The return of Derick Brassard from a two-game absence means Dylan Gambrell will be the odd man out of the Senators' lineup Tuesday as they take on Los Angeles. In eight games this season he has one goal, seven shots and seven PIMs while playing limited minutes averaging only 10:00 TOI.


Gambrell missed Thursday's game vs. the Predators but was back on the ice for Friday's practice and is expected to play Saturday. Gambrell has just five points (2G / 3A) in 51 games this season.

Gambrell was not on the ice for the morning skate and is doubtful to play Thursday due to a non-COVID illness. In addition to Gambrell, Tim Stützle is also sick and Tim Stützle is questionable with a knee injury.

Gambrell tweaked something in the morning skate and will not be available for Tuesday's game vs. Minnesota, so the Senators will need to call-up a forward from the AHL.

Gambrell was a healthy scratch in Washington on Sunday but he will replace Mark Kastelic in the lineup on Tuesday. Gambrell has scored one goal with two assists (three points) in 29 games with the Senators this season.

Gambrell missed the last four games with an upper-body injury but is set to play Monday vs. the Devils. Gambrell has gone pointless in his last eight games and has just one goal and two assists (three points) in 25 games this season.

Gambrell was added to the COVID-19 reserve list on Monday and is not expected to play on Tuesday. Tyler Ennis is expected to return to the Senators lineup to replace Gambrell.

Gambrell was acquired from the Sharks on Sunday and will make his Senators debut tonight. The 25-year-old will centre the fourth line and has 23 points (10G / 13A) in 110 career NHL games.
