Hughes returns to the lineup one week ahead of schedule. Hughes had a great start to the season, scoring two goals with one assist in his first two games and will be back on the top power-play unit vs. the Sharks.




With Pesce entering the NHL's COVID-19 protocol, his status for Tuesday's game is up in the air. Pesce could test out of protocol and join the team in Dallas, but for now, consider him doubtful.


Cholowski played just 9:57 TOI in his Capitals debut on Sunday while suiting up as a seventh defenseman. On Friday, he'll replace Justin Schultz, who is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

With Max Pacioretty and Will Carrier returning on Wednesday and Adam Brooks emerging, the Golden Knights have returned three forwards to the AHL. Cotter had two goals in six games with Vegas and has four goals in 10 AHL games this season.




Hughes participated in a limited capacity and a non-contact jersey on Monday. Hughes wasn't expected to be back until early December, best-case scenario, so this seems to suggest that he is on track in his recovery.





Allen will likely miss his fourth straight game on Saturday, meaning Samuel Montembeault will likely start vs. the Predators. Keeping him out on Saturday gives Allen an extra three days rest ahead of next Wednesday's game in Washington.
