Rittich is in the starter's crease at the Flames morning skate.

Rittich surrendered four goals on 34 shots in the Flames win in Minnesota on January 5th. Cam Talbot has started the last three games, so they'll get Rittich a game tonight so he doesn't sit too long. The 27-year-old is 9-6-2 with a 2.87 GAA, .913 SV% and one shutout on the road and gets set to face a Montreal team that has lost five in a row while scoring just 1.60 goals per game on home ice.

Hughes (upper-body) will not play on Thursday.

Hughes was banged up late in Tuesday's shootout win over the Bruins but returned to the game and played in overtime. He was on the ice for Thursday's morning skate but will not play tonight, but his availability for the skate suggests it's a very minor issue.

Allen will start Tuesday in Arizona.

Allen allowed two goals on 36 shots in the Blues win in San Jose on December 21st. Jordan Binnington started the last three games but it looks like Allen will start New Year's Even in Arizona. Allen has gone 4-1-0 with a 1.39 GAA, .958 SV% and one shutout in his last six outings (five starts). He draws a solid road matchup in Arizona, vs. a Coyotes team that has lost three in a row while scoring just 1.67 goals per game.

Rittich will start Tuesday vs. the Blackhawks.

Rittich was yanked after allowing three goals on seven shots in the Flames 5-2 loss to the Canucks on Sunday. It was a rough outing for Rittich, who is 5-2-1 with a 2.90 GAA and .909 SV% in December. Tonight he faces a Blackhawks team that has won four of their last five while scoring 3.60 goals per game.

Rittich allowed one goal on 27 shots in the Flames win in Dallas last Sunday. Rittich has played extremely well over the last month, going 6-1-1 with a 2.47 GAA and .922 SV% in his last eight starts. Rittich was 2-1-0 with a 1.68 GAA and .938 SV% in three starts against Edmonton in 2018-19.

Rittich will start Sunday in Dallas.

Rittich surrendered four goals on 43 shots in the Flames loss to the Canadiens on Thursday. Rittich has lost two straight while giving up seven goals on 73 shots (.904 SV%) and draws a tough road assignment in Dallas. The Stars have won 10 of their last 13 home games (10-2-1) while scoring 3.31 goals per game.

Mantha (upper-body) will not play on Sunday.

Mantha engaged with Jake Muzzin after a hit in the third period and ended up getting body-slammed to the ice by the Leafs' defenseman. Mantha's head hit the ice and remained down for a few minutes before being helped off of the ice. Sunday is the Red Wings' final game before the Christmas break, so it's entirely possible that he could be back for next Saturday's game in Florida but that is pure speculation at this point.
