Varly is 3-9-0 with a 3.19 AGA ad .903 SV% on home ice and allowed four goals on 21 shots in a 4-0 loss in his first start vs. Chicago.
Clutterbuck will come out of the lineup on Monday because of an undisclosed minor injury. With Ladd out, Stephen Gionta will get back into the lineup. Consider Clutterbuck as day-to-day.
Varlamov served as Calvin Pickard’s backup last Friday, but tonight he makes his first start since January 22nd. Varlamov has struggled mightily this season, going 6-14-0 with a 3.33 GAA and .901 SV% in 21 games. The Avalanche are a terrible team, which is going to limit his upside in the second half.

Clutterbuck’s new contract will kick in next year and carry him through the 2021-22 season.
Drouin missed Sunday’s game in Carolina, but will draw back into the lineup tonight. Drouin was expected to breakout after a strong 2016 playoffs, but he has just 10 points (3G / 7A) in 19 games so far.

Mayfield picked up two assists in 14:22 TOI on Wednesday, but with Dennis Seidenberg returning from IR on Thursday, Mayfield was a healthy scratch and has been sent back to Bridgeport.
