Varlamov will start Thursday vs. the Blue Jackets.

Varlamov allowed five goals on 40 shots in Colorado’s loss to the Oilers on November 23rd. Calvin Pickard started the last two games, but Varlamov will go tonight vs. the Blue Jackets. The 28-year-old has struggled for the better part of 2016-17, but he stopped 40 of 42 shots in an OT win in his first start vs. the Blue Jackets.

Schneider will start Tuesday in Winnipeg.

Schneider allowed five goals on 33 shots in the Devils’ overtime loss to the Red Wings last Friday. Schneider has struggled recently, losing three of his last four starts with a 3.69 GAA and .868 SV%. Tonight Schneider will face a Jets team that has lost five of their last six games while being outscored by their opponents 20-9.

The Islanders have activated Ryan Pulock off of IR and loaned him to Bridgeport (AHL).

Pulock has been sidelined since his season debut on October 21st and will head to Bridgeport to get back up to speed before likely returning to the Islanders. The 22-year-old blueliner has two goals and two assists (four points) in 16 career NHL games.

Palmieri (upper-body) will return to the Devils' lineup on Friday.

Palmieri has missed the last two games with an upper-body injury, but will return to the lineup tonight vs. the Red Wings. There is no word who he will replace in the lineup, but he is expected to skate on a line with Michael Cammalleri and Travis Zajac. Palmieri has three goals and four assists (seven points) in 17 games this season.

Schneider will start Friday vs. the Red Wings.

Schneider allowed four goals on 31 shots in the Devils’ shootout win over the Maple Leafs on Wednesday. The win snapped a brief two-game losing streak for Schneider, who faces the Red Wings on home-ice, where he is unbeaten with a 1.95 GAA and .931 SV% in seven starts this season.

Schneider allowed three goals on 27 shots in the Devils’ loss in Los Angeles on Saturday. Schneider, who has lost his last two starts, was given Monday off, but will get back in the crease tonight vs. Toronto. Schneider has been excellent on home-ice, winning his first six starts with a 1.64 GAA and .942 SV% at the Prudential Center.

Varlamov allowed two goals on 42 shots in Colorado’s overtime win in Columbus on Monday. Varlamov has won three of his last five starts while posting a 1.79 GAA and .944 SV%. Tonight Varlamov will take on the Oilers on home-ice, where he has gone 3-3-0 with a 2.51 GAA and .917 SV%.

Schneider leads the Devils onto the ice for warmups.

Schneider allowed three goals on 23 shots in the Devils’ loss in Anaheim on Thursday. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Schneider, who will start his fourth straight game today in Los Angeles. Schneider is 1-4-2 with a 2.70 GAA and .912 SV% on the road this season.

Schneider stopped 23 of 24 shots in the Devils’ win in Dallas on Tuesday. Schneider has won his last three starts while stopping 75 of 80 shots (.938 SV%). Schneider continues to be one of the best goalies in the NHL, but will have to deal with limited goal support. Tonight he faces a Ducks team that has won four of their last six.

Varlamov gave up one goal on 33 shots in Colorado’s win over the Kings on Tuesday. After a rough stretch, Varlamov has improved over his last three starts. The Russian netminder has won two of his last three starts while allowing just four goals on 96 shots (.958 SV%). Tonight he faces a Stars team that has lost five of their last seven games.

Schneider stopped 21 of 23 shots in the Devils’ win over the Sabres on Saturday. Schneider has won his last two starts while stopping 52 of 56 shots (.929 SV%) and draws a decent matchup tonight. Dallas has lost four of their last six, but have averaged 3.00 goals per game over that stretched. The Stars are banged up, but Schneider may not get a lot of help with Taylor Hall and Mike Cammalleri out.

Varlamov stopped 44 of 45 shots in Colorado’s loss to the Bruins on Sunday. Despite an incredible outing, Varlamov was still stuck with the loss. Varlamov is 1-6-0 with a 3.46 GAA and .887 SV% in his last seven starts. It has been a rough stretch for the Russian netminder, who starts tonight vs. the Kings. Varlamov has gone 2-3-0 with a 2.81 GAA and .905 SV% on home ice.

The Islanders have recalled Scott Mayfield from Bridgeport (AHL) on an emergency basis.

Mayfield, 24, has picked up one goal and one assists (two points) in 12 games with Bridgeport this season. Mayfield has picked up one goal in 11 career NHL games and he is expected to make his season debut tonight with Dennis Seidenberg (upper-body) out.
