The 26-year-old Tsyplakov, in his first NHL season, is averaging 16:15 time-on-ice, scoring 19 points (7G / 12A) in 44 games. He's been held off the scoresheet in 10 straight.

Ilya Sorokin returned to the Islanders' crease in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers and the team will quickly revert to Hogberg between the pipes on Saturday against the San Jose Sharks. The 30-year-old Hogberg has been tremendous in limited action this season, posting a 1.41 GAA and .953 SV% in five appearances (1-2-0). He saved 25 of 26 shots (.962 SV%) in his most recent outing, a 2-0 loss to the Ottawa Senators.

Gatcomb made his NHL debut on Tuesday, playing 7:27 time-on-ice, and returns to New York after a brief stop in Bridgeport (AHL). Gatcomb is an undrafted forward out of the University of Connecticut. The 25-year-old has 17 points (9G / 8A) in 35 games with the Bridgeport Islanders (AHL) this season.

The 30-year-old Hogberg has been excellent in limited action this season, posting a 1.56 GAA and .950 SV% in four appearances (1-1-0). The Islanders enter Tuesday's contest as -114 home favorites against a Senators club outscoring their opposition 8-2 during a two-game winning streak.

Heineman (upper-body) was "involved in a traffic accident yesterday as a pedestrian" on Monday and is expected to be out for 3-4 weeks.

An unfortunate incident will keep Heineman out of the lineup for three-to-four weeks. The 23-year-old has been impressive in his rookie season, averaging 11:09 time-on-ice and scoring 17 points (10G / 7A) in 41 games.
