Panik overslept and missed the Blackhawks morning skate, so he will be scratched tonight vs. the Lightning. With Panik our and Ryan Garbutt traded (to Anaheim) the Blackhawks will go with 11 forwards and seven defensemen.
Drouin did not show up for Syracuse’s game on Wednesday and the Lightning have suspended the 20-year-old indefinitely. The Lightning will continue to try and trade Drouin for a fair price, so it looks like he has played his last game with Tampa or Syracuse.

Tonight Varlamov will take on a Sabres team that has rattled off four wins in their last five games—Varly is 5-3-2 with a 2.98 GAA ad .908 SV% in his last 10 starts on home ice.
