Varlamov will be in goal on Monday vs. the Islanders.

Varlamov allowed three goals on 28 shots in Colorado’s win over Winnipeg on Saturday. Since returning from injury, Varlamov is 2-1-0 with a 2.96 GAA and .891 SV%. It hasn’t exactly been pretty for Varly, but the wins are all that matter to Patrick Roy. Varlamov will start in Brooklyn tonight, he is 2-2-0 with a 2.03 GAA and .927 SV% on the road this season.

Varalmov will start on Saturday.

Varlamov was pulled after allowing three goals on 15 shots in the Avs’ loss to the Senators on Wednesday. Despite the rough outing, the Avalanche will stick with Varlamov tonight vs. the Jets. In his first game back from injury, he stopped 20 of 21 in a win in Winnipeg, so the matchup shouldn’t scare you.

Varlamov will be in goal on Wednesday vs. the Senators.

Varlamov made 20 saves on 21 shots in a win his return to the crease on Monday. Varlamov was struggling mightily before he got hurt and maybe some time off was just what he needed. Obviously one start doesn’t mean he is back and he will face a much stiffer test tonight with the Senators in town. Ottawa has won three in a row and have outscored their opponents 14-4 over that span.

Schneider will start Wednesday vs. the Blue Jackets.

Schneider allowed two goals on 38 shots in the Devils win in Vancouver on Sunday. If Schneider wasn’t already considered one of the best goalies in the NHL before this season, he is now. With a mediocre team in front of him, Schneider has gone 10-5-1 with a 2.05 GAA and .928 SV% in 16 starts this season. He is as dependable of a fantasy netminder as you will find, but will be in tough tonight vs. a surging Blue Jackets team.

Drouin (undisclosed) practiced on Tuesday; remains doubtful for Wednesday.

Drouin took part in practice on Tuesday, but said he is “not where [he] wants to be,” which suggests that he will not be in the lineup on Wednesday. Monitor his status during the morning skate, but all it looks like he will miss his fourth straight game.

Jonathan Drouin
Varlamov (groin) will return to the Avs' crease on Monday.

Varlamov has been out since November 10th with a groin injury, but will return to the crease tonight. After posting a 3.26 GAA and .890 SV% in his first 10 games, he had fallen behind Reto Berra, but Berra has struggled in his last three games, so Varlamov could reclaim his job as the Avs’ No. 1 goalie with a couple of strong outings.

Schneider starts Sunday in Vancouver.

Schneider allowed three goals on 30 shots in the Devils loss in Calgary on Tuesday. Keith Kinkaid started on Friday but Schneider will be back in goal on Sunday vs. his former team. Schneider is 1-1-2 with a 2.21 GAA and .920 SV% in his first four starts vs. the Canucks.

Cory Schneider

Schneider stopped all 21 shots that he faced in the Devils’ shutout win over the Penguins on Saturday. Schneider has been insane over the last 30 days, winning nine of 12 while posting a 1.98 GAA and .926 SV%. Schneider is one of the NHL’s hottest net minders and is a must-start vs. the Flames, who have lost three of four.

Schneider will be in goal Saturday vs. the Penguins.

Schneider allowed two goals on 29 shots in the Devils win in Chicago on Thursday. Schneider has been great this season and his team has done enough in front of him to have the 29-year-old netminder sitting at 8-4-1 with a 2.13 GAA and .924 SV% on the season. Tonight he will take on the 10-6-0 Penguins at home—Schneider is 3-3-1 on Prudential Center ice this season.
