Varlamov regained his form on Tuesday, stopped 36 of 37 shots in a 5-1 win over Chicago. The Avalanche got him out to an early 3-0 lead and he was able to coast to the finish. His three straight losses prior to Tuesday proved to us why he has a career .914 SV% and that he won't maintain a SV% above .930 all season. However he is on a good team, and .914 is not so bad, he remains a solid number-1 fantasy option.

Varlamov allowed four goals on 33 shots in a loss to the Panthers on Saturday. It was his fourth loss in his last five starts. After a 7-1-0 October, Varly is 2-4-0 with a 3.06 GAA and .898 SV% in November. He has a difficulties matchup with the reigning Stanley Cup Champions in town tonight.

Varlamov allowed two goals on six shots in a brief relief effort of J.S Giguere on Thursday. The Avalanche have been humbled in their last two games - losing 2-1 to CAR and 7-3 to STL. Varlamov will look to get the Avs back on track tonight vs. the Panthers.

After Varlamov's run-in with the law this week, it appeared that Giguere would become the starter for the foreseeable future. However, Varlamov is back with the team and will end up getting the start tonight. He will face a solid Dallas Stars team tonight.

Palmieri was sidelined for Thursday's game but will be back when Anaheim takes on Ottawa. He has yet to record a point in three games.

Clutterbuck recovered way ahead of schedule and will be on the ice tonight. He was practicing on the Islanders third line throughout the week, but with Matt Moulson questionable tonight, he could skate alongside former OHL teammate John Tavares.

Varlamov will start tomorrow after getting the night off on Thursday. He He has allowed one goal in all three games and sits a 3-0 with a 1.00 GAA and .967 SV%. It will be his first start against the Capitals after playing in Washington from 2008-11. It would be tough to bench Varlamov after his start, but Alex Ovechkin and the Caps pose some problems.
