Varlamov gave up three goals on 34 shots in a loss to the Blues on Wednesday. Varlamov looked solid in the final 40 minutes after giving up three goals in the first period. Tonight he faces a Wild team who have scored just two goals in their last three games.
Schneider allowed a single tally on 35 shots in a win over the Kings on November 21. He was given the next three starts off but will be back in between the pipes tonight. His two wins don't tell the whole story, Schneider has a great 1.87 GAA and .925 SV%.

Despite being formally charge with one count of third-degree assault on Friday, Varlamov will be in goal tonight vs. the Kings. He stopped 41 of 44 shots in an overtime win over the Coyotes on Thursday. It will be his first start against the Kings this season.
Varlamov has been granted permission to travel with the Avalanche but is scheduled to appear in Denver County court on December 2. If convicted he could face up to six months in prison.
Schneider allowed one goal on 20 shots in a tough-luck loss to the Kings last Friday. Schneider has a great 1.98 GAA and .918 SV% in nine appearances… But just one win. In his last three starts the Devils have scored a total of one goal. He will face the Kings again tonight, hopefully for his owners, New Jersey can find the twine this time around.
Varlamov regained his form on Tuesday, stopped 36 of 37 shots in a 5-1 win over Chicago. The Avalanche got him out to an early 3-0 lead and he was able to coast to the finish. His three straight losses prior to Tuesday proved to us why he has a career .914 SV% and that he won't maintain a SV% above .930 all season. However he is on a good team, and .914 is not so bad, he remains a solid number-1 fantasy option.
Varlamov allowed four goals on 33 shots in a loss to the Panthers on Saturday. It was his fourth loss in his last five starts. After a 7-1-0 October, Varly is 2-4-0 with a 3.06 GAA and .898 SV% in November. He has a difficulties matchup with the reigning Stanley Cup Champions in town tonight.
Varlamov allowed two goals on six shots in a brief relief effort of J.S Giguere on Thursday. The Avalanche have been humbled in their last two games - losing 2-1 to CAR and 7-3 to STL. Varlamov will look to get the Avs back on track tonight vs. the Panthers.
Schneider allowed one goal on 28 shots in a loss to the Maple Leafs last Friday. Schneider has not registered a win since October 19 vs. the Rangers. He faces a Kings team who will be without Jeff Carter and Jonathan Quick tomorrow, but still needs more help from his offence.
Varlamov turned aside 33 of 34 shots to take the win over the Capitals on Sunday. The W moved him to 9-2-0 with a 2.00 GAA and .936 SV% on the season. He continues to be a reliable fantasy starter and has a strong matchup tonight vs. the Hurricanes and their 28th ranked offence.
Head coach Jack Capuano did not know what his lineup would be tonight, other than Thomas Vanek being out. Clutterbuck has missed the last three games after scoring a goal and adding an assist in his first 12 games with the Islanders. They will likely announce their lineup later in the afternoon, stand-by.
Varlamov had his worst outing of the season on Wednesday - he allowed five goals on 27 shots in a loss to the Coyotes. He will be back in the crease tonight facing another tough opponent. The Capitals and their ninth ranked scoring offence will face off with Colorado in Denver tonight.
Schneider allowed three goals on 19 shots in a loss to the Wild on Sunday. He still only has one win this season, despite a solid 2.27 GAA. Schneider has a tough matchup vs. Toronto tomorrow.
Just over 24 hours after being in court last Thursday, Varlamov recorded his third straight win on Friday. He stopped 27 of 29 shots to preserve the victory over the Stars. Varlamov has been great but don't forget the serious charges that he is facing. However as long as he is starting games, you can continue to roll with him.
Schneider has had a strong start to the season, but the Devils 25th ranked offence have held him to just one win. Schneider has a 2.14 GAA and .915 SV%, he will look to pick up his second win of the season tonight against the Wild, after a short stint on IR. The Wild's offence isn't much better (21st), but they rank 6th in team GAA.
Schneider declared himself fit to start tomorrow, but he will not back-up tonight. Monitor his status tomorrow when the Devils take on the Wild.
Schneider will likely be Martin Brodeur's back-up this evening and could start tomorrow after missing the last three games with a lower-body injury.
It was reported earlier in the week that J.S Giguere was going to start this evening. After Varlamov's run-in with the law this week, it appeared that Giguere would become the starter for the foreseeable future. However, Varlamov is back with the team and will end up getting the start tonight. He will face a solid Dallas Stars team tonight.
